Its my pay day

Got an email from National Opportunities d/b/a It's My Pay Day. After faxing/emailing/mailing them for 3 weeks and being totally ignored, I receieved an email today. I do believe it wasn't due to my efforts. I filed complaints with EVERY agency you can think of. Suddenly, after all my attempts and being ignored - I get an email stating that my loan has been "written off" (it was actually overpaid!), that the balance is now zero, and the issue has been resolved. I'm sure this isn't due to anything I did with the exception of filing the complaints. So keep filing those complaints! Apparently action is beginning to happen! Wish I got my refund, but they're off my butt now!

Yes, it is icing on the cake! Thanks for the wake up call, Morningstarr! But, file - file - file those complaints! I swear, that's what got this response. I was just some idiot pestering them until the agencies stepped in and worked some magic! So there''s hope! And to all of you who have pdl's with National Opportunities/It's My Pay Day - FILE THOSE COMPLAINTS!!

cannr,

I'm glad that you were able to get a PIF from them. Keep the documentation somewhere safe. I was never able to get a refund from them either but I also filed complaints after being harassed by them.

Oh my gosh. I save EVERYTHING regarding these pdl's! Believe me! I think I'll still have this stuff stored away 20 years from now just because I'm so paranoid about it all! Yes, a refund would have been nice, but like morningstarr told me, that's just icing on the cake! Can you just imagine how much money these people are getting? I can't even imagine.

I can't either Cannr...I am an obsessive organizer, I have a folder and separate areas for sheets I made showing what I paid each one and what was allowed by my state law. And a sheet where I gathered info like address, phone and email for each one. Then I have a section for each compliant that I filed. It's like a book!!!! I will keep it forever to remind me of this huge mistake I made and how much work it was to set myself free!!!

Guys Please dont give up on the refunds just yet. If you have filed with your AG the legal process takes time and lots of it. I have been out under payday loans for 2 years. I had overpaid every one of them. I am still seeing refunds. Got three the other day. The AG has to follow the law which is definately a long lenghty process but I have found the law does protect the consumers. KYSIDE38

kyside,

Who did you get refunds from? I am thinking of attacking a couple of others that I have severely overpaid.

Oh! Thanks for the inspiring words! I know the poor AG offices are bogged down with all this crap! To know that you might still get refunded is just a plus! I really just want these illegal idiots to be stopped! And I want to see no more poor people being taken for every dime they have and can't even pay their rent or buy groceries or get gas. That's the main thing. Stopping these guys. I'm all for the AG's office. If KYSIDE says they're working on it, then they're working on it. Make sure you file your complaints!

I sent them my revocation letter on 6/14 and on 6/20 and 6/26, I still get the same "form" letter telling me they will debit my account for my convenience. I told them they are no longer authorized and I will no longer be responsible for return fees, etc. I told them I pd 183.50 for a 150 loan, so pls. mark my account pd in full in accordance with NYS usury laws. This will surely piss them off. Good for you cannr!

Then let them be pissed off. It sounds like you have paid enough on this loan. They are the ones who need to follow your state laws.
