Hello,
I took out 300 dollars from ameriloan a couple of months ago. I defaulted not to long ago because I had way too many PDL's coming out of my check. Ameriloan called my work at least 10x's a day. My boss told me to tell people to stop calling work for me as it was getting annoying and a distraction. Well, last Friday, I given my walking papers. It is all Ameriloans fault. Can I sue them? The bright spot of all this is the calls will stop.

Jobless,

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that Sad I would do as Shazzers said and report them to FTC, and whoever else that may be able to help.

If you were truly fired because of ameriloan calling your job, then your employer should be taken to court. If that was the specific reason they gave you they have not shown just cause. What state are you in?

I work in Illinois. The reason they gave me was I was always late, but I know it was the calls.

Unfortunately, if you were late once a week, THAT is grounds for termination. You can try to justify it, but I think that any manager would tell you to open your eyes and get better clock next time! Regarding the calls at work, if you can prove that they were made after the PDL company was notified, you may have something to take back toward them, but I don't see any liability for your former company.

Good luck and get out there beating the pavement to find a new career!

owner is correct here.in this day even if you were late once a week employers look differently on that than say even 1 year ago.things have changed with everything that includes leeway
on the job.i know because we just terminated when there attendance hasn't changed, but there tollerence has.you will have to go along way to prove that the calls caused your firing.

I have to agree with PDL owner and the others if you are late once a week every week, then that is grounds for termination. In some states the employer does not have to give you a reason to let you go.

I just wanted to say I am truely sorry. These days, losing my job is my biggest fear - whatever reason the job was lost, I wish you good luck in finding a new one. I would def. report ameriloan to the FTC.
