My husband and I have 6 payday loans total. 2 with Plain Green, 2 with Great Plains, and 2 with One Click Cash ( 1 of each in each name). We live in PA and we have paid off and got the loans again just to keep our heads above water. Is there anything we can do? I have read about them being illegal, but I am a bit confused. I know we have paid them at least double the principles in interest. What is the next step?

Payday loans are illegal in PA..plus your lenders are illegal tribal lenders.
Follow the link in my signature line for information on how to deal with them. You pay principal only...no fees, no interest. If you over paid on your last loans, you can probably tell them to get lost now.

Do I just contact them and say to stop or should I go through the processes of closing accounts and everything?

Follow the link that Soaplady has suggested. It will give you steps to follow. Do not skip a step. Yes, you will have to close your bank account and obtain a new one. Do not give out this info to anyone. It may seem that this is a bit much but it all works out in the long run. Good luck to you:D

My husband brought up a good point that the agreement that we electronically signed says that we agree that "no other state or federal law or regulation shall apply to this agreement" Is this true?

the laws exist for a reason.the"governing law"means nothing.
I posted a question last week regarding a law firm that contacte me regarding a $500 PDL that I never took out. They say them bought the debt from another company and the loan was written off on 1/19/12. I got them to send me a demand letter via email and I sent them a copy of my 1/12 bank statement. Now they want me to send them my statements from 7/11 through 1/12 because they need to confirm that I did not receive a deposit from any PDL company within that time frame. That way they can determine if it can be waived and in turn contact the original PDL company to inform them that this was in accurate information. The name of the law firm is:
Simmons Smith and Associates
407 Lake Howell Rd
Maitland, FL 32751
I can not find them on the BBB website.
One of your other counselors told me after I received the demand letter to go ahead and send my statement, but now I'm not too sure about some many months worth.

Tell them to get lost. They know the date it was done by ACH transfer and they should not need additional statements.

Ok I'm just worried about them trying to take further action.
I spoke to the rep. on Friday and I told him I thought you said it was deposited between 12/11 and 1/19/12. He said no that it was written off on 1/19/12 and that they need the additional months because they are not sure when the $500 was actually deposited, but that it took place between 7/11 and 1/12.
So, should I call him back or wait for him to call me again?
Thank you for replying.

you file AG,AND FTC complaints.it is not up to you to prove you don't owe this.if they need that they have no right to attempt to collect on this.
These may be silly questions but...
AG - Attorney General
FTC - ???
How do I go about filing these complaints?
