I'm in an huge self made mess!! lol~ of course, thats why I'm here!!

I have both storefront and internet loans because I'm just that awesome!!
I have been slowly digging my self out of the storefront ones but the internet ones are dragging me down and making the process forever long!!

Here is the info requested for new posters~

cant find their actual location but it states in the docs that I am responsible from their place of office

have no idea where they r located or even a phone number!!!! what was I thinking!!!!!!

I am in Kentucky and read a post by someone stating that internet lenders were illegal in KY and that i only had to pay back principle or maybe none at all ~ does this ring any bells for any one?
I would love to just close my checking account and get a new one but am worried about the repercussions of doing so~ so any advice or info would be greatly appreciated~

Sarena - I am also in the state of Kentucky and got myself into a mess with pdl's. This website was and still is extremely helpful. The first thing to do is to close your account and open a new one - I'd do this asap, before defaults and before contacting any of these lenders.
In the state of KY internet pdl's are illegal. Depending on when you took the loans out you may or may not legally be responsible for repaying the principle amount of these loans according to the department of finance. That being said - I'm sure that you'll want to repay the principle amount of these loans, but the good news is that you can repay them on your terms and at a rate and amount you find reasonable to fit in your budget. Have you closed your account yet or contacted these lenders?

I was worried that I would have these companies trying to put me in jail and such. I have not defaulted on any of them yet and I am trying not to but it will happen very soon~
So if I close my account, what will happen? They would put my loans in collections? That would harm my credit pretty badly yes?
Are you sure that internet pdl are illegal in Ky? And since they are illegal, than I am only liable for the princilple?

First thing to do is get your account closed to secure your money. This will ensure they can't and won't continue making withdrawls from your account. Make sure that you don't give out your new account information to ANYONE. They will contact you with threats, blah, blah, blah. Failure to pay a PDL is not a criminal case and therefore you can't be put in jail - doens't mean they won't threaten, but bottom line is they can't do it. The PDL's will attempt to handle your accounts in house first, before collections or atleast that was my experience with them.
The only legal PD companies in KY are "check cashiers" store fronts. You need to make sure if you have any of them they are taken care of. All internet PDL's are illegal in KY. Because internet PDL's are illegal in KY, they may turn you over to a collection agency but all you need to do is request validation of the debt and request they itemize how they came up with the amount you owe. Send a C & D letter - although due to the fact they are illegal may not follow it. You can fight anything that shows up on your credit report from an illegal PDL and it should be fairly easy to have removed - I haven't gotten this far in the process yet.
Yes, morally you are obligated to repay the principle only. Any fees paid to this point can be deducted from the principle amount of the loan, also - that may help you.
I understand being scared eveyone here has been there. The PDL's count on you being scared and will attempt to work that to their advantage.

I thought of using a debt consolidation company like Langhorne but because the internet PDL's are illegal in KY, it would have been a total waste of money. Money that could have been applied to the principle amounts of my loans.
I've only dealt with 500 fast cash on your lists of lenders.
Word of advice just ignore the calls and don't discuss anything with them verbally other than telling them all communication needs to be made with USPS or email so you have documentation of all conversation.
