Anybody had this experience?

Hi,

I was just wondering what others' experiences have been with these different PDL's. The last payment that any of them received was on 11/15 and I haven't heard much from any of them. I did get a call (message) from one of them saying that they wanted to talk to me about my e-mail (a request for PIF and to make contact only through e-mail or regular mail) but all I did was re-send the same e-mail to them and never called them back. I haven't heard a thing. Another company has communicated with me through their site, I sent them the same letter and they concluded their communication with me with just "we will continue with our efforts to collect on this debt" and that was the last I've heard from them. My question is, has anyone else gone awhile without hearing anything from them? I assumed that I would hear something immediately. The two storefronts that I have are working with me making payments to them, the ones I am referring to are all internet companies. Just curious, I feel like this is the calm before the storm.

tina...it is not uncommon to go days, weeks, even months without hearing a word from them...and then they will start. When I defaulted it was at least 2 months before any of them bothered me...and I recently just heard from one I defaulted in June and they just now started contacting me.I used the down time to file complaints to the BBB and the Attirney General's office...3 I recieved pif's from without any contact in between at all.

Thanks Morning. I have filed some complaints as well. I haven't heard anything from them as of yet. I've also sent the requests for PIF's and asked them to only contact me through e-mail or USPS. It just seems as though when I've missed a payment in the past (or returned for NSF), they call the very next day. I've never started the "fight" before, thanks to this site, I have. I was just curious of others' experience with these horrible people.

tina...believe me when I say you will be fine. When I started in June I had 10 internet loans and was behind in my rent and every bill I had. I am all caught up....only have 2 pdls left...and through a debt management program have already paid down almost half of all my debt. I didn't think it could be done either...LOL.

Congratulations on paying down debt morningstarr! Doesn't that feel awesome? I can't wait to be to that point in our lives.
I also recently had companies start to contact me and I defaulted with them in July. Of course, its a company that I have no intention of paying any more money to, I've overpaid already and its MTE....

Tina..like Morningstar said they will eventually contact you...I had 4 internet and 1 storefront pdl.
I defaulted in June..1 contacted me immediately the others took two months....now all is paid except for the ones that my debt counselor has...the only reason I contacted a debt consolidation group was because I wanted to pay off a couple of credit cards also. You're doing good..just give it a little time.

Some IPDLs are quick to sell your debt to a third party and that is another reason you may not hear from them. These third party collectors will rarely attempt validation as their loans were not within the laws where they have to collect in most cases.

Tina, I had nine and fove of them bothered me and four did not. It took them about a month to 6 weeks to catch up with the account being closed. And you can never tell how you are going to be treated. I have had a hard time with some that others got pif right away. Enjoy the calm before the storm and if there is no storm...the planets are aligned in your favor and relish in it. Laughing

I have heard from 2 of my 5 pdl's and they can be very nasty. I was firm with them and i haven't heard a thing since. Threatened with jail, ha ha. If they want to contact me they will have to do it by mail because i will not talk to any of them and be treated in such a way. They are the thieves not me.

tlmjcj, how long was it before you heard from the 2? You never heard from the other 3? How long has it been since you defaulted with them? I really am enjoying not hearing from them but I'm also very nervous that it's going to happen all at once!!! I have e-mailed some of them with the PIF letter but haven't heard back from them.

My experience has been on-going with one out of five. All but one contacted me in about two months. Arrangements were made and settled. One reverted to a collection agency...my debt counselor tried to settle with them for three monts now...they sent them checks which were cashed...and still want me to pay up. I have told my debt counselor to take them off my list and consider it paid. Now the CA has contacted me for the 15th time (this month) and informed me I have to pay the full balance by Dec. 21st or else! Or else remains to be seen???

When I closed my account two months ago I heard from United Cash and Urgent Cash right away, I never heard from the others until just yesterday I got a voice message from Impact Cash saying it's been awhile since they've talked to me (which has been never!) and they need me to call them ASAP. well I'm not calling them, maybe it will go another two months

Well, today is the day......I got a call at work from Sonic. I put her on hold twice and got accidently disconnected : ) She did manage to tell me that I owe for two loans with Sonic and what kind of arrangements could I make to pay at least one for now. The question I have is this......I had a loan with them for $400.00 and have been paying on it forever.....at least 9 months. They would take 2 payments of 251.96 every two weeks and then I would re-borrow the $400.00 and do it all over again. I have been told that they are an illegal PDL and that I'm only morally obligated to pay the principle back. Since I've been paying the 103.92 all this time, should I consider that as payback or do I still owe them the $400.00? The other loan was because the one loan for $400.00 was returned and they had already deposited the next $400.00 into my account before they knew it was returned. So yes, I do owe them that $400 as I've paid nothing on it.
Any thoughts/opinions?
