Anyone ever have any dealings with this company in Ohio? I am one week late paying them and dont have the funds.

Are they a storefront? If so find out if they are a CFSA member. If so they will work with you, but you must approach them before you default!

Tyroone, Check Smart is a membner of CFSA, however, that will not help you because you stated you are one week late paying. You do need to contact this company and explain your situation. You should go into the store and try to work out a payment arrangement with them. I researched the company on the site and found several references to them. You can search them in the search box at the top right corner of the page. This will list all the threads where Check Smart is mentioned. From reading the posts of other members, if the store will not cooperate, I would recommend calling the corporate office and expalining to them what is going on and asking them to work out a payment arrangement.

I am in default with them as well and in spite of my efforts to make payment arrangements with them, they are still calling my aunt and showing up at my house demanding payment. Best of luck to you.

Showing up at your house for payment? Good Lord Almighty. I do believe I would have my cell phone in my hand and dial 911 to report a friggin trespasser on my property. What balls these guys have!

Hi guys! I've not been on a while, hope your all doing well! Checksmart is the worst! They will call and they are NOT nice! If you can work out that equal payment plan before you default they will take that, but if you don't, life will get ugly! When I defaulted with them, the one week of phone calls is all I could take, I ended up paying them off and struggling for a few weeks until I could recover, but it was worth it to make them stop calling. Hey, lren! Good to see you again! Thanks for posting that! It's always nice to get first hand experience from someone who has dealt with the pdl in question (even if it was ugly!).

Wow, they are showing up on doorsteps now? Their in house collections is horrible to work with. They will also place this stuff on your credit report. I have marks from them and Express on my CR. But, they will take payments eventfully.

I usually check this site out daily, I just don't say too much anymore. Maybe one of these days I'll be more vocal but I want to try to help people out or help someone get out of their mess.

Checksmart is the worst, and every time I drive by their stores, I want to give them the Californian wave. But I hold back and think how stupid I was. Another expensive lesson I learned in life.
