Ok here gose. I live in calif. I can complain to my Attorney General of cailf and the B.B.B. about an illegal ipdl or pdl in store. Ok what recorse do I have if they and will proberly do start to call my reference's and job (as it is illegal to do so in cailf? Can you report them in there own state to get the off your back? There must be laws in there own state that they can not call or harass a person. Has anyone tried doing this before?

I will tell you, that I had 7 loans, and not once were any of my references called. It may be strange, but honeastly no one got calls. I did send letters (cease and desist) and told them only to contact me thru either e mail or usps. This does seem to work, at least for a while. Please remember that if a company is illegal, they are illegal in all they do

But can you report them in there state if they start to harass you at your job? I can take the phone calls to my self,but do not want them to call my work or my ref's. Kashzan Where can I find the cease and desist form on the site here and can you send it to there email or dose it have to be sent thru the snail mail?

Kashzan Have you ever delt with any of these pdl's and if you have are they hard to be delt with? I want to pay off all of my loans,but only what is due them according to the calif law and not a cent more. And what steps and order whould I do this in.

I have allready closed my checking acct and and all ach will be sent back acct close)due to a great cousmer manager and am now receiving a paper check instead of direct deposit, also was told that i can open a new checking and they will not link up. I have great bank and human resorce since I also work for the bank.

I started with 7 and have 4 PIFs. the 3 I am dealing with now, have been quiet for a while, but I expect them to pop up soon with a frenzy.
Is your new account with the same bank as the one you closed? Do you feel safe with that? I opened a new account at a completely unrelated bank, and still check it every day. These people are so sly you just never know.
Back to your question, Of course they were hard to deal with. They are illegal after all, but it can be done,
As for cease and desist, just send a letter telling them to cease and desist from telephone contact. Tell them to only to contact you thre e mail or usps. I sent the letter to them via e mail and USPS

b7, e-mail and fax them too. Keep track of everything you send. I have not had them contact my references. I think as long as they can contact you somehow, they will leave those people alone.

If you open an account at a new bank you really should not have any problems, but if you can live without one I assume that is the safest way to go

Hi B7. I can mirror what Kash and Roxy said. None of my pdls ever contacted my references either. Like Roxy said, as long as they can contact you in some way then they don't really have a reason to contact your references. Also, I think you should probably report the illegal pdls to your state anyway. If I'm not mistaken, CA is pretty good about helping their consumers and I don't think that they take this type of thing lightly. It also gives you leverage to deal with the illegal pdls. Good luck. I know the feeling all too well! But, you are going to feel sooooo good when it is over. And actually, for me, it didn't take very long to be rid of all of my pdls. Hopefully it will be the same for you. Smile

I started with 10 about 2 weeks ago and got 5 PIF and 3 to settle for the amount I felt was legal and 2 that just will not settle for the legal amount. I am sooo ready to be done with this too. You will get there and you will enjoy getting your whole paycheck too.

WAIT A MINUTE!!! It seems to have been overlooked - b777 has a Northway loan. Hello! b7777, I do hope you are reading this right now! You need to send a letter to them NOW revoking any wage assignment you may have signed. Do this NOW! You need to email it/fax it/mail it certified. Get it to them now! Keep a copy and give a copy to your payroll department. Do this ASAP. Please.

First of all, there is a Cease and Desist order against several PDL's in the State of California. Northway Credit (Sonic Payday, Paydayavenue, E-Care Centers) is one of the PDL's under the Cease and Desist Order.

Here is the link to check if your Internet PDL has a Cease and Desist order against it. Look for it alphabetically. If it does, notify Department of Corporations for the State of California and also notify the lender.

Also, do you need any contact information for your pdl's? Or do you have what you need? I didn't see anything regarding if you needed any information on them or not.

cannr-I was just going to say that! Northaway will indeed try to exercise that wage assignment.

Also, How much have you paid each of these companies? Please list the original amoutn of the loan and then how much you have paid so far with fees.
