Just received a threatening phone call from a Andy Watkins from genova roth saying they have filed a complaint against me and they would like to talk to at my place of employment. Isn't genova roth a ipdl and are they licensed. I had a $300 loan that I paid $450 back. Its freaking me out what do I do now

What state are you in? Check Geneva Roth with the Dept of Financial Institutions of your state. If they are a legit company, they will be listed with the DFI. You also need to check the pdl laws of your state and figure out the legal interest rates and fees allowed in your state.

Geneva Roth is a PDL that operates as Loan Point USA and others. They are not licensed in any state as far as I know. I found them extremely difficult to deal with. You can get their address off the BBB website. Do not pay attention to there threats and demands. How much did you borrow and how much have you paid them so far. They are located is Shawnee Mission Kansas.

Can you tell us what state you are in? That way we can help you figure out what you still owe legally per your state laws!

Here's what I found: They appear to be licensed in the state of UTAH-here is the link to their listing: http://www.dfi.utah.gov/reglistg.htm. If you are in PA, from my understanding you will be governed by the laws of the state of UTAH. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

rach, I think you're right. That's the problem with PA. If it's internet and they're licensed in their own state, I believe PA residents have to follow the pdl state law. Which, to me, is crazy. But, who am I?
