I took out a cashadvance in the amount of $600 with cashin30minutes.com i lost my job and wasnt able to pay the loan back i got a call from a guy name brad with National Attorney collection services sayin that i have a LEGAL CASE IN THERE OFFICE AND IF I DONT PAY 720.00 IMMEADIATLY i was going to be charged wit check fraud and would get 2years probation and would have to take some type of classes at the time i took out the advanvce i was living in delaware .could i really go to jail or be charged with a crime please help me im terrified Crying or Very sad

They cannot put you in jail. These people threaten a bunch of stuff but they cannot put you in jail. Someone with more experience will be along soon to give you advice. In the meantime dont worry about it and dont give in to their threats and send them money.

No. Worst thing they can do is sue you civily, but they won't do that becaue almost all internet payday loans are operating illegaly.

you people are just about making excuses for not paying a cent, you should be ashamed of yourselves, if you can't manage to pay, just don't take it, period, i am a bookkeeper at a payday loan store, and pretty much all my customers are pretty good people punctual on payments, and yes, there are some like you who just don't want to pay back, and yes, we can't really take you to jail for not paying back, but we can take you to court and garnish your wages, not to mention that we can make a judgement against your credit, so that this stays for 7 yrs and prevent you from renting a car or buying a house, and unfortunately for you, we are making a suggestion to the goverment that we should actually take you to jail for making business with bad checks!!! lol

You've obviously not read very far into our site. We tell people exactly what you told them - that a legally operating payday lender can and will take them to court, possibly leading to garnishment of their wages, if they do not work out some sort of payment arrangement with said lender.

So what's your point?

I believe you said in your post that the OP in this case "didn't want to pay back". That's not at all what the OP said - they said they lost their job. Big difference.

Should the OP make payment arrangements with the lender (provided they are operating within the state law)? Yes - definitely. You won't see us telling them anything other than that. Only when the payday lender is operating illegally do we suggest anything else. And even then, we suggest paying what is owed under their state law, but nothing more.

It will be interesting to see what your "suggestions" to the government end up creating.

Oh...one more thing. A judgement on your credit will not prevent you from renting a car. Car rental places don't check your credit. They only want your name, information, and credit card...and sometimes your firstborn child as security.

Guest, how do you sleep at night. You over charge the most vulnerable people in our society that are desperate then you have the nerve to call and make empty threats and scare the begeebees out of them. The wonderful people on this forum ALWAYS say to pay the amount borrowed. IT is YOUR organizations that threaten and harrass people to the point of apathy when they dont even pay back the principal. There are alot of scumbags in your payday loan world, unfortunately you have crawled out from under your rock and spewed your garbage on a great forum. Crawl back under the rock and leave these kind people alone.
