I check out the urban legend website snopes.com to see what's going on in the wild world of weird stories. Well - I thought I'd do a search on payday loans in snopes, just for the fun of it. Believe it or not, I came up with a story! It was an e-mail chain letter in 2007, requesting donations of money for a woman in Canada whose husband had a heart attack and they were having bad times. There was an address provided for the woman so you could send your donations. Here's the good part - the address was for a "we'll hold your check until payday" place! The commentary on the story said they didn't know if the people 'in need' were legit or not, but can you imagine if a PDL got hold of all kinds of checks from people all over the world? Unbelievable!!!

That just stinks that someone would do that. A new and sneakier way for PDL's to get their money.
I use Snopes.com to debunk all those forwarded e-mails we get. And you know what? Every single one I've received has been false or unsubstantiated. I copy & paste the Snopes page, with reference to where it came from and send it back to the one who sent it to me.

I'm ALWAYS getting those "forward to everyone you know" e-mails. I keep referring people back to snopes, and they keep sending 'em anyway...

I get tired of them. My sis in law sends them like crazy. I just delete them now. I have such a heart for people and I can't stand the thought of people suffering. I have always said if I get blessed with a large amount of money (inheritance or lottery) then I am going to do so much for so many people. Instead of getting richer, I would take care of people (annoymously) that I know need actual help. Single parents, parents that are struggling, teachers, preachers, etc. Ya know? I would just want to bless others as I had been blessed. I can't stand to see people stand on the side of the street with signs that say, will work for food. I just want to help them all. But unfortunately, I am blessed beyond meassure with beautiful children and a loving husband, just not a lot of money.
