How do I find out if a PDL is licensed in my state.

This will point you in the right direction. There is a section on the page where you can search and find out if a pdl is licensed or not.

I asked this ? and got the same responce- I did find a list. Does that mean if they aren't on the list they are not licenced in my state?

Yes, that is correct. If they are not on the list, that means they aren't licensed in your state. I would also double-check too to see if any of your payday loans are running under a dba name though too.

Some states will only license companies physically located in their state, so I'd also check with your state DFI and see what they say. As joshua said, sometimes they use dba's, and some states allow them to piggy back on another businesses license.
