I live in florida and have three loans, none of them are based in florida, so is it legal to collect if they are not licensed to do business in florida? How can I check to see if they are licensed?
You can go to www.flofr.com and check out if they are licensed. Also you may want to list the PDLs that you owe, the amount you borrowed, and how much they have taken from your account. BUT, the first thing you want to do is CLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!. Put a ARH Debit hard block on it and close it. Then go to the following link: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html
This link has helped me with my PDL problems.
???????? Please....do not give out information if you do not have a clue what you are talking about. There is NO SUCH THING as a hard block....and it is ACH REVOCATION. Learn the terminology before you start advising people what to do.
TO the original poster....who did you borrow from? If these loans are illegal, you send out an ACH REVOCATION, revoke voluntary wage assignments AND CLOSE your bank account asap!!!
How to Deal with Illegal Loans..OhioGal's Primer http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...allenders.html PDL's are ILLEGAL in the following states...
AR, AZ, CT, GA, ME, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, PA, VT AND DC
OH AND NH have very restrictive low cost interest rate laws.
the accts are closed involuntarily bc of the overdrafts. I only see one of them on my credit report and these were taken out in april 2010 while i was out of work on disability. They were my last resort. I heavily regret doing them. I hvae to look at my paperwork and see the names of the companies, off the top of my head i think i can remeber the name cashpoint or loan point .....
soaplady,
You do not have to be rude. The advise that I gave her is the same advice that you have given along with other experts. I do know the terminology, I just mistyped it and that was my mistake.
I know that you have helped many of us with the PDL problem that we have and your advise is valued highly.
Sorryfriend, Soaplady stated that there is no such thing as a hard block. I apologize for giving you this information. I do know that the link that I gave you helped me a lot and the advise from Soaplady, Ohiogal, and Paulmergel.
Just keep coming back and post any questions that you may have.
I am not an expert at this, however, I have and I am where you are at now. I can only offer the support that you are not alone and that you can get out of this mess.
By signing up for counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
