Do you kow if they are licensed in Florida? They keep hitting my account once or twice a month. I always get my bank to reverse the ACH because I had a loan with them in 2004 & it was paid off long time ago. Somehow they got a hold of my new bank account and now they are after it.

Ok since they dont have a license in michigan are they illegal? They keep telling me that they are an installment loan and not a payday loan and that they follow their state laws. But dont they have to be backed by a bank?

check your terms and conditions, also check your payments.an installment loan the payments are as follows.if your payment is 99.00 equal payments, some of that payment goes toward the principal.by the last payment, usually most are six months.the loan is PIF.i noticed alot of illegal pdl's suddenly changing there verbage to convey they are installment loans.that is not legal without changing the terms and sending you documentation of such.
to summarize,i think your pdl is trying to sell you on this.demand written documentation of this if they don't comply, they are still a pdl.

So do I ask them to provide me proof of what bank backs them for the installment loan?

Installment loans don't have to be backed by a bank - The backing by an FDIC insured bank just gives them the right to import the interest rates from another state.
But they do not have to be backed by a bank to be legal.
