OK so a few weeks ago some loud angry guy called me at work saying I owe them money. I was currently sitting at my desk with my boss and told him that I could not receive phone calls at my place of work and to please call my cell phone and gave him my cell number and hung up on him. He immediately called back and said why was i being so rude. i told him again i was not able nor wanted to receive phone calls at work and that I was busy and please call the number i had just gave him. I hung up again. Again he called back saying he knew i was not busy and , i said ok well I am an hung up again. he then called my cell phone which i did not answer because I was at work and with my boss, but it was funny how since it was recorded to my voice mail he was nice and polite and calm, but did not leave a return number just said he needed to talk to me.

Flash to yesterday where I am at work and this time he calls again to my work but I was able to talk this time since i was alone in my office. The same loud angry guy said that i was ignoring him and that i needed to be a man and handle my debt. I asked him what he was talking about. He said I owed his company money from a PDL i did back in Oct 2007. I said well i did a few back then and paid them so I need a statement showing what i supposedly owe his company. he said when i signed up i got all the information I was going to get. At this point I told him for my benefit i was going to record the conversation with his company going forward for my protection, he said whatever that's fine because so was his company. I asked him after that what the name of his company was and he said LTS Management. I asked his name and he said Mr. something (did not write down my bad.) I asked the address for his company so going forward I could have paper mail correspondence for tracking and if need be legal reasons. he said i said their address was not important because I needed to pay the bill via CC, money gram or western union or direct debit from checking. I told him none of those were going to happen until i had proof that i owed his company money. he said the proof was in the deposit they made to my account in Oct 2007 and that i was refusing to settle my debt. I said i am not refusing to pay the debt , just trying to validate it before payment is made. He said i was stalling and i said why because I want my debt validated. He said if i was a responsible person I would have the original paperwork from when I applied for the loan and that i needed to stop being stupid. I reminded him that this conversation was being recorded and that his derogatory names towards me were not permitted. He got madder and said i need to pay the money now. I said look I have asked you not to call me at work and i have gave you my cell number and i would call you back when had a chance but you never left a contact number, he then gave me the contact number, I said when you are ready to validate the debt please feel free to call my cell phone and lets work this issue out, other wise i am asking you to stop calling my work and wil be researching LTS managment on the Internet and will be sending out a cease and desist letter. He said that once again i was being stupid because he is not a third party collection agency and before i try to act smart I should know that they are the original creditor and can and will call anywhere they chose. I said we will see and I would be waiting to hear from them about validating my claim. He got mad and said you know what hold on. I waited as he put me on hold, a female then picked up and was very nice and kind sounding. I told her the issue and she said she was sorry and would work with me. She said I owed money form a PDL from Oct 2007 and I said I had a few back then so not saying i did not have loans around that time but was trying to validate I had a loan through her company. She said she would be more than happy to do a 3 way call with my bank to validate they deposited money in my account. I said NO i was looking written verification that i had applied and owed their company. She said that she was not at liberty to share that information but could tell me that i had received $300 from them and now with fees and late charges I owed $690. I said well please send me a statement showing that. She asked if my email was ######@gmail.com and I validated it was and she said they have sent me many emails. I told her i have never received any type of email from them, she said well it prob went into my junk mail or span mail folder, i told her I know how to operate email and I check all emails i get in all folders and have never received an email. She said we she had proof they sent them, I said well OK that's great how about sending me proof I owe your company money. She said they she could settle my debt for $390 but i had to hurry on this offer. I said I would be happy to pay what I owe when the debt was validated in email or paper mail. She said it would be a hassle to pull my paperwork form form the loan. I said well its a hassle when you call me at work to but i have wasted the last 20 mins trying to help you resolve what you say i owe. She said well lets set something up so you can pay on the $390. I once again said i wanted proof and was she refusing to validate my debt. She said no they could validate it but if they did they would not settle for the $390 and want the full $690. I said that was fine and to please just sent it to my email in word or PDF format if possible, she laughed and said pay the $390. I asked her if her colleague informed her that this entire conversation was being recorded with her company. At this point she became mad and said well it wont hold up in court you never informed me. I said OK so why the sudden mood change. She said that she would send proof to my email the next day (today) and was there anything else i needed. I said yes stop calling me at work. She hung up.

Well its today (first day on vacation at that, yahoo lol) and still waiting for that email validation.

So after all that, how do I get them to validate so I can pay if i do owe, and can i get them to stop calling my work, my boss gets irritated when people get calls at work.

Wow. These guys sounds like a Circus. If they were a valid 3rd party collection company. They would have faxed debt validation letter immediately with orginal accounts held from PDL and payment history. Sounds like bottom feeder collection company that is false. I found LTS Management on the Rip Off Report Scam Advisory board so go figure. I suggest if they call again get a contact number and address to send a certified C&D letter to their location for the calls and harrasment. That will stop the calls. Did you pay off all your PDLs in 2007? Someone will be along here shortly to interject.

TO the best of my knowledge yes i did , but i had a lot and paid off what i knew I had, that is why i am trying to just validate it. They wont give me an address.

Hmm. Do you still use the same bank account from thos 2007 PDLs?

No i had to close that account back then because of all the "hell" i was going thru before i was able clean up my act.

i wouldn't do anything until i see the validation...which i am sure is what your intentions are. what do they expect..some random stranger calls saying you owe us money...who wouldn't say prove it....what do they expect? come on

I would not worry about them. If they call you back stand your ground. No debt validation. No Payment!! They are Scams if you ask me. Hey, but that is just my opinion. Besides they are legally obligated to privide you this information under the FTC and FCRA.

Thats what I am saying, I am more that capable and willing to pay a debt i owe and could have overlooked, but not handing out money to anyone without proof

yes, my main concern is getting an address for them to send a cease and desist letter so they stop calling my work before i loose my job.

I currently have a loan I believe with the same company. I do not have an address. But I received an email with this url loanshoponline.com. It is a one page website. Also, I have this phone number 1-800-806-9971.

Also, under the fair debt collection act. Section 805 - The company is not allowed to contact you at work. Section - 806 - they are not allowed to hassel you,call continuously, call names or threaten you in any way. I would research this act more for your benefit and I would also report them to the better business bureau. I hope this information was helpful and I hope I dont' deal with the same situation

Hi Mike, I delt with LTS Management. The place I used was Loan Shop Online. Here is the contact information I have. I would try emailing Mr. Mashburn. Or Mr. Weathers. Explain everything you have here, but I"d check with your bank if you can and see what you'be paid them. If you've overpaid, tell them that you want a refund. Be specific, tell them the exact amount you've overpaid. You probably did overpay knowing them.

I also had a loan through Loan Shop and have been receiving similar calls with no validation in site either. The letter I received from them says nothing about an account it was deposited into or anything wither. The letterhead looks like it was copied and not original. Here is the address that it came from:

Loanshoponline is not licensed in the state of California to provide deferred deposits. They totally ripped me off with fees. We are now in some kind of settlement phase which is a joke cause they offered me $600 back on $6300 of illegally charged fees. Told them NO make me a better offer or we go to court. If anyone has initiated a loan with them in the State of California after November 23, 2009 please contact the California Department of Corporations and make a complaint - http://www.corp.ca.gov/ENF/complaint.asp Its worth the stamp... Any loans after that date violate their Desist and Refrain order and I'd love to see them sued civilly by the government. This has become my personal vendetta!
