Default Payday Advance Nightmare!!!

I have several payday advance loans that have been pretty much robbing me blind. I have been trying to pay them, but unfortunately due to a change in my employment status very recently, I have been unable to keep up with them. What are my rights? I live in the state of Maryland where I have found out from the authorities here that most of the companies I have borrowed from, except for two (Cash Net USA and Cash Plus CSO, Inc.) are illegally lending here and that they are under investigation. Illegal companies include Discount Advances (which is really PayDayMax), DollarQuick, Integrity Advance, and Check n Go. It got so bad that I was borrowing from one advance company just to pay one of the others. I am not intentionally trying to avoid them, but until I get my finances right again, I am helpless in trying to pay them back. Meanwhile, they are accruing interest daily and my attempts to getting them to stop until then have failed. I've finally convinced my bank to change my account number, but I was told by them that since they have my SS#, they can eventually pursue me at ANY bank. PLEASE advise!

And before anyone says to just pay the loan, please know that I had every intention of doing that, but because of severe paycuts, I was just unable to do so. I have tried to negotiate with the companies, but not only would I be required to pay the past fees, but the current fees AND fees for any extensions. This would equal to more than the actual loan! I finally convinced my bank to change my account number, but they advised me that because they have my SS#, they can eventually trace me to ANY bank that I use. HELP!!!

Payday loans are prohibited in Maryland. There are some lenders who are listed as CSO's, this is why it's very important that you weed them out. You are only obligated to pay back the original amount your borrowed, so deduct whatever you have already paid, any interest and fees from that amount.
