Ok, so I keep reading that once you've paid the principal on your loan, technically they can't ask for anymore. I don't know how accurate this is, or how I'd go about stopping my pdl from debiting from my account if it is true. I have been in a cycle with two pdl's since last august, getting one to cover the other..etc, etc. so....I've got to the point where I have both at the same time..and I can't cover the fees and pay down the loans. I'm afraid i won't be able to pay towards my car too. I have paid over $1000 extra in fees over what i've actually borrowed from both lenders. if it wasn't for these fees, i would have been out of this problem a long time ago! i didn't know what advice i could get to try to talk to these people, or if i should just call them. i don't want them to get mad and start taking all kinds of money from me.
my other problem is i live in massachusetts and now i'm reading these people can't legally lend via the internet in massachusetts. why aren't these people stopped??? i've been reading on your forum and it seems both oneclickcash & unitedcashloans have been causing drama for years! i don't get why these people aren't shut down..

Payday loans are prohibited in your state, see the link below:
paydayloaninfo.org/stateinfo/MA.asp

They can't be stopped because most of them are located overseas, however, the more complaints that are filed with your state attorney general's office, the more likely they will investigate these thieves.

You can't really stop them from debiting your account, you could revoke their right to debit your account per the EFTA law, but that is only temporary, because they will change their names and continue hitting your account. The ONLY solution is to CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT!! CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

the more I read, the more relief I already feel. I can't wait to start the process today. I tried calling my bank and the guy told me I had to go into the branch and put a hold on my account in person. I plan to do that on my lunch today. Also, I have already drafted up the letters I will fax/mail out today. I will be demanding my refund and paid in full letters as well. I wanted to freeze my bank account BEFORE I sent those letter for fear that they'll come after me ten fold!

I have been told legally in MA they can't even garnish my wages so that is a huge relief. They've already taken so much from me! These people are horrible..feeding off of hard working, scared consumers.

This is the place to help w/ the PDLs; do as Shazzers says, get that bank account closed, or the PDls will continue to drain your money. (don't let them know ahead of time you're doing that, or they'll try to grab as much as they can before the act. is closed). Talk to the manager at your bank and explain the situation, they've probably heard similiar stories. Unfortunately there's no way you can stop the lenders from calling you (unitedcashloans is a particular pain), but now that you're taking the first steps, hopefully you'll be out of the PDL trap.

I've emailed my lenders..and I'm scared to death! lol...just waiting for the calls to start on my cell and at work...

Yikes!

When the threatening calls and emails start, don't talk to them, don't give them the time of day, what are they gonna due, sue you? I think not, if they walked into a court of law the judge would pounce on them.

So I checked my bank account and my money is still all there. I checked the old account, which just has holds on it for now, and united cash loan didn't even bother trying to debit. One click cash has made the attempt, but obviously isn't going to get anywhere. I tried signing onto my united cash loans account but it says there is an issue with it and can't be viewed online. one click cash still remains like nothing has happened.

the funniest thing, if they DO try and call me at work, I had given them the number to the office I worked at back then. they've recently merged with another office so no one works there anymore. I checked last night for the hell of it and that line just rings into no where now..so unless they try to track me down by looking our number up or something, i think i'm safe at work??

anyway, no email responses or phone calls yet..but the day is young..

Yes, the day is young, and it may take a few days, or even more before you hear from them. If you have any further questions, let us know. Please keep us posted!

I would also send your payroll a letter revoking them the right to have a wage assignment. they cannot garnish your wages, since that involves them going to court and they are illegal but they can send over for a wage assingment, which are revokable. to be covered, send your HR one.
You are on your way to being payday loan free

Wow..so its been a really long time it seems..and no emails, letters, calls..nothing since I last replied until today. Someone just called from an 800 number so I answered. He said he was from united cash loans and wanted me to pay $260 to settle my account before it was sent to a lawyer for collections. I asked if they have received the letter I had sent telling them I will only speak to them regarding my account via email or actual mail. He said they CANNOT talk to us any other way besides over the phone. Sounds like BS to me. Anyway, He informed me that although it may be illegal in massachusetts, when I signed what I did, I agreed to do business in Oaklahoma, so therefore, I am held responsible for my debt. I know I heard this company and One Click Cash are both illegal, but is this somewhat true? I'm getting a little nervous..I would hate to stir up unwarranted drama!

Anyway, he told me the phone calls would not stop..but he'd note my account. GREAT.

that is every illegal lender's line.not just these bozos.your state law prevails over their dillusions.do not believe a thing that comes out of their pie-holes.it will be a lie to get money out of you when none is owed.btw as far as the calls go,if he calls hang up in his face without a word.that is what he deserves.

I was tough, I told him whats uppp. lol
I work for collections myself so I know my rights as far as certain things go. I told him flat out I know what is legal so don't even bother threatening me.
Techincally with them, they can't even say I wrote them a bad check as they NEVER tried to debit my account after I sent them the letter.
I know they can reply via email because a longg time ago I had a question about my pay day falling on a different day than usual because of a holiday and they replied to me! So I know that is total crap. Its sad they think we are dumb.

Ok so last night at like 9pm I received a call from One Click Cash. I didn't know who they were, so I answered. The lady offered me a settlement of $111 a month for 6 months to clear my debt. She said she could email me and mail the info. (funny how if United Cash Loans and One Click Cash are one in the same..but United Cash can't mail/email but One Click can...hhmmm...) I asked if she received the letters I sent. She said no. (What the heck..) When I briefly gave her an overview and that I would resend the letter, she flat out said "so..you took out a loan from us without any intetion on paying it?" Whatever. I paid above and beyond the principle. Then my phone died. Good..because I would have laid into her something fierce. Pshh.

Question about garnishing wages..how would they even find out where I techincally work and where to send the wage assignment? I mean I sent the proper letters, but I'm worried they'll do it anyway...legal or not.

get a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter to your HR,or payroll person.then send that to both bottomfeeders.once that is done they can't touch you.a wage assignment is not a granishment.to garnish they would need a court order.fact chance with both of these places.
