I am with Town and Country and I received a notice from the court for a mediator hearing in my county. I called T&C yesterday and told them to send me everything about the company they have done so far. Should I bring anything else to this mediator hearing? The letter from the court told me what time and what room but nothing else. This hearing is for a storefront pdl. I believe this is to try to settle before a court date is assigned. Has anybody been to a mediator hearing and what can I expect to happen?

A third party will be hearing the case from you as well as from the storefront. Then they will try to work out a settlement or a payment plan. If you can afford it, you will be able to stop the matter from going to the court.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been with T & C and how long since you defaulted on the storefront before it got to this? I am a little scared about the same thing happening to me. Also, who is the storefront?

I've been sending bi-weekely payments now for two months (4 payments total). I defaulted on the loan when I western union my retainer fee. The place is Checksmart.

Read the info in the forums about Checksmart. Many members have posted on them here--and they do sound like they could be sticky to deal with. Good luck to you and let us know what happens.

The Mediation hearing went ok. They wanted $55 extra dollars extra a month than what Town and Country was sending. I agreed to it and they have you sign papers and your out the door.
