Monday Morning Happy Dance!! Just got a email from GECC. I had a (legal) balance due them of $12 but they are giving me a PIF! Not too bad for 10 days since first contact. There is HOPE people!! Keep fighting the evil  PIFs! 4 down in 10 days, I have Usfastcash and Oneclickcash left to deal with. (Nationalpayday i have only paid $150 on a $300 loan and have read they are impossible to deal with so i will probably pay them off with the refund i get from paydayok). But, things are so much better already, i actually have money in my bank account!! Wow, what a feeling, it makes monday mornings so much more pleasant, i don't even mind coming to work! hehe.

vlin, YAY! You're doing great! See? I'm glad you post to let everyone know there is hope! Yes, it work, but it's worth the work. You've gotten some good responses so far. I saved the ugly ones for last. And they're still haunting me. LOL! But that's okay. I have my paycheck and they can't keep sucking me dry anymore. Your MTE ones might/might not go well. They don't cooperate with me; however, others have had good luck with them. Let's see if they like you! LOL! You keep up the hard work! You're going great! Any problems, just post!

Default question for Vicki on her successes

Vicki, what exactly did you send your pdl's to get refunds? Did you email, or did you send certified letters? I'd like tips on your successes! Way to go, you're sounding pretty victorious!

beth, did you overpay your pdl's? Send them a letter regarding your loan, stating the amount, your state laws, what you are legally obligated to pay, your overpayment amount and demand a refund. I sent all my letters via email/fax/USPS. I did it all. That way they can't claim they didn't get anything. Or if they do want to claim they didn't get anything, you have the documentation right in your hand to prove them wrong.

Cannr,

The first pdl I'm trying to get a PIF & refund from is Rio Resources (TenDollarPayday) in OK. Rio funded my NFCU acct $300 on 6/7/06, and took 6 debit pmts (every payday for 3 months) until I was forced to stop using that acct because of my trouble with multiple pdl's. I opened a new acct on 11/3/06, and am waiting for my statements to see how much they debited that acct. Currently, this pdl is being collected by ARM (Accounts Receivable Management), but debited by United Legal Corp in FL. After my new acct was closed in 1/07 (again due to my multiple pdl's), I have made pdl pmts via disposable credit cards and a reloadable visa debit card. I don't have a way to trace pmts made by the disposable cards, and I was only able to retrieve 3 months of acct activity from my reloadable one, going back to the beginning of June '07. *From my NFCU acct, Rio debited $550. *Unknown amt from my 2nd acct. *Unknown amt from the disposable credit cards. *$65 debited from my reloadable card (but could be more since I bought that card somewhere between Mar-May '07).

SOOOOOO.....So far I have recorded $615 in pmts for my $300 pdl. I live in OH, and the law says $5 fee permitted for every $50 borrowed plus 5% monthly interest. Once I receive my 2nd bank's statements, I will get a better idea how much I paid & on which dates, so that I can try to figure a monthly calculation of interest. But then again, Ohio DOES NOT ALLOW loan renewals at all. Math stresses me out, and this just makes me confused on how to calculate the interest. Do I calculate the interest on the principal $300 minus each month's payments from 6/06 through today 8/07, or possibly calculate the monthly percentage only on the full $300 principal every month since I'm sure that Rio doesn't consider any of my pmts as pmts toward the principal balance, only renewal fees. Or do I only count one month of interest since loan renewals are not legal in Ohio?

SEE WHERE MY CONFUSION IS??? ARGH!

beth, TenDollarPayDay is MTE Financial. They are not licensed/legal to do business. Only count the principle amount you borrowed. No fees. Tell them the amount of the loan (principle only) and how much you've paid back (which I'm sure is WAY over) and demand a refund. MTE Financial is not fun to deal with, and I can't promise you'll get a refund. Actually, I can't promise they will even admit to being TenDollarPayDay (they are). You need to send them a letter via email/fax/mail. And you need to file complaints to the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG. MTE is not licensed even in their own state to do business.

Hi all, checking is with my latest update. This may be a bit long winded since i only have one more pdl to hear from and i am doing a recap for Beth.
I received an settlement offer from Oneclickcash! Happy Dance~~~
Wow, i'm amazed i heard from them. Way to go BBB!! I have overpaid them $22 and they offered to mark my account PIF if I send them $155 by tomorrow via moneygram. I realize this is an overpayment but from what i have read about them on the forum, I am taking the settlement offer just to be done with them and i will consider it one more victory under my belt! Seeing what others have overpaid to these people, $155 seems like a bargain! lol.

Beth, you were interested in what i did to get my PIF's and refunds. I consider myself VERY lucky. I started out simple, just wanted to 'get my feet wet' so i chose one pdl and emailed them using a letter suggested here on the forum as a template. Paydayok and Paydayselect seemed to have the best record in PIF's and refunds so i contacted them first. Paydayok settled with me in a matter of days. They first offered to give me a PIF and i replied restating points in my first letter including the amount i overpaid and demanded a refund. Success! PIF and $250 refund.
That gave me such a boost that i started emailing the rest and when i didnt hear anything after a week, i emailed them all again and again until i got an answer. Bug them as much as they bug you!
I also began filing complaints with the BBB. It is so easy, there is an online complaint form, just fill in the blanks, state what you basically told the PDL's regarding overpayments, state laws, and what you will settle for, etc. You will be amazed how fast that puts those crooks into action! lol.
Thats all i've done so far, but keep in mind, up until i began fighting them, all my pdl's were up to date, (none had defaulted).
So far the only one i havent had a response from is usfastcash but the BBB gave them until the 21st to respond so i am waiting patiently.
I have decided to payoff needspeedycash since i only have a $80 balance and havent yet overpaid them and i am going to payoff National Payday with my refund check from paydayok since i have read here that they are a absolute nightmare to deal with and i still owe a small amount on the princple.
So far the score is Debtconsolidatonforum & me 5, PDL's 0! If i get a PIF from usfastcash, it will be a total wipeout for the pdl's!!! This site has saved my sanity and my paychecks!!
Do a lot of reading on the paydayloan forums and the success storie forum. Do searches for the pdl's you have by name and you will learn who will work with you and who you might need help with. Most of all, don't be afraid to ask questions, thats what everyone here is for. Before you know it, you will be telling your own success story and helping out the next victim of the evil pdl's!!

If i could, i would have a big thank you party for everyone here who has helped me, I raise my glass to you all!

Default vlin,

vlin, good for you! I'm glad to hear that One Click is working with you, although I consider it an overpayment (my own personal opinion), but if you want to settle and be rid of them, more power to you! And, don't be surprised if when you get a response from USFastCash that they also will want more money, as they are the same company. But, if it's something you're willing to settle for, go for it! Then you will be rid of all of these forever. You've done great and I'm very happy for you. Once you're done with all your pdl's, I'll be a jealous person! Thanks for sharing your success with everyone!
