In mid-October I took out a $200 loan from the dreaded ACHLoan.com. I have made 2 - $74 payments to their company. I live in Missouri. I had difficulty finding their web site one night, so I googled their site to find it. I ended up finding out they are a scam and illegal in my state.
My first question is that after I found out they are a scam, I closed my bank account and changed my work information so they would not call my employer. Would this be considered fraud, especially since they seem to be an illegal company?
Secondly, I have paid $148 to date of the original $200. Do I have to pay the $52 to them, or can I write it off as some extra money for myself?
Thirdly, are they still based outside the United States. I'm just really afraid of getting arrested for something and don't want that to happen. Thank you all!

This company is all over the place; apparently they're based in Ireland, their call center is in India, and their US phone number (the last one I had) had a Utah Area Code! I've dealt with them and they threatened to come and get me and "see me in a British court of law." I told them to come on over, I'd be waiting!

Is it strange at all that it has been a week since achloan.com attempted to withdraw from my checking account only to get denied because I closed it and they haven't attempted to contact me at all? I logged onto my achloan.com account and it showed the funds were returned to them. I know I'm jinxing myself on this now.

Judging by my own experience, you WILL be hearing from them and, as I said in my earlier post, they'll make all kinds of outrageous threats. If they choose not to contact you, count your blessings!!
