|

I live in Missouri and have the following payday loans:
Storefront:
A+ Cash Advance, took out $350, have paid them well over that amount, current on this loan.
Loan N'Go, took out $300, have paid them at least that amt. so far, current
Advance America, took out $475, have paid approx. $220, current
Money On Time, took out $200, have paid $30, current
Payday Money Store, took out $200, have not yet made a pymt., current
Internet:
BIG, took out $275, have paid them approx. $250, current
MyCashNow, took out $410, have paid them $38, current
The internet loans are taken out of my personal account.
The checks for the storefront loans are written on a joint account with my husband, who does not know about the pdl mess I am in. I can't close this account.
I desperately need to take care of these loans, as the payments are draining me of my entire paycheck, and I can't keep the balancing act going any longer.
Please help! I have thought about using a debt settlement company, but I don't think they work with storefront pdls??
Thanks in advance!

There are a few settlment companies that work with PDLs. Also if the storefronts are CFSA members they will set up extended plans for you. Your internets are bad news especially BIG. You need to close that account or they will bleed it dry. Pay them the principal plus your states allowable interest and no more and get ready to be harrassed by people from offshore. Just ignore them and hang up. Eventually they dry up and blow away.

Since I can't close the joint account, should I go to each storefront pld and ask them to make payment arrangements? Will they still try to run the check I gave them through the bank?
Sorry for all the questions, I am just so scared and don't know where to start.

I just wanted to add that after reading through the information on this site, I want to try to handle my storefront pdls myself. Any support or advice on how to settle with the storefronts would be appreciated!
I am current on all of them right now, so I'm going to ask about EPP.

wow it sounds like you are in a pickle. Could I suggest that maybe if you come clean with your husband he could be part of the solution? He will find out eventually so why not start now and maybe he can help you figure out what to do?
good luck in whatever you choose.

I just don't think I can tell my husband at this point. I'm going to try to get things going on my own right now. Maybe once I have a plan in place I will feel comfortable telling him. We have been having some other problems, and I'm afraid this might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.
If anyone has any advice on what to say to the storefronts when I go in to try to set up a payment plan, I'd appreciate it. The storefronts are my major problem, the two internet loans I can deal with after the others.
Thanks

I know how you feel. I have 5 loans without my husband knowing, I had to eventually tell him. Its hard. I just screwed up so bad and its going to take some time to get out the bind I put us in but he is still here. Of course, he was so pissed with me and in some ways still is, but I am going to get us out of this bind and surprisingly he has said a'we are going to work this out". Its probably eating you up like it did me and when it got to the point where I could not sleep, I had to tell him. I know its hard but you just may have to tell him. It is actually making me to be responsible. We are both taking control of the finances and once I clear this mess up- I am going to do something I never have- save money. So when we get in a bind, I don't have to resort to this. If you want, you can pm me, its would be nice to speak with someone who is going through similar circumstances- you know:)
