Well, today is the day that I am supposed to moneygram $230 to webpayday and I definitely don't have the money. Not sure what is going to happen. I feel like I should call them, but I just don't want to open that can of worms. I'm sure they will call me. Very nervous right now!

No. Unfortunately that isn't the payoff balance. This ipdl was a last ditch effort to get myself out of trouble with other pdls (didn't work obviously and now I'm having to deal with them). I haven't yet made a payment to them, so I legally owe them $400. (They say I owe over $600). But, I blocked them from my account until I can close it. I did not want to default, but when I realized that with the interest from the pdls was more than I was going to be getting paid, I got real serious about doing somethin about them. I blocked all of the ipdls, used some of the money to pay off two storefronts, and am just going to deal with them one by one, as I can. I am going to pay them the legal amount, as I feel a moral obligation to do so, but I just can't pay them on their terms. I think that a money order would be safer, plus I don't have the extra money to be sending moneygrams. I can send them some, and I told the lady that the other day when she called, but I can't send all. She just said that if I didn't send the $230 that the account would be sent to a CA and they would "seek involuntary means of getting the money back." That was pretty much the end of the conversation and I have been paranoid ever since.

Don't let them frighten you, most likely what will happen is, they will turn in over to an internal collector, which is probably the next desk over from the one you spoke with. If you can send them a small amount by money order, I would opt for that, something is better than nothing at all, and at least you are making an attempt! I really hope you can get that bank account closed asap. IPDL's have a way of getting around those blocks, and that's what worries me.

That's what I understand. I can close it as soon as a couple of things clear. I keep watching it. The moment they clear I will get it closed. The thing is, she won't give me an address. In my initial conversation with her, she said that they do not accept payment by mail, and she did not even want me to send a moneygram. She suggested that I give her a debit card number or give the account number of a relative or friend that they could debit the money from! That's crazy. I would never give someone else's account number to them. Anyway, I plan on avoiding her for today, as I just don't feel like dealing with her. I have an address for them, but I don't know if it is valid. Should I just send a money order to that address or should I keep requesting for her to give me a valid address? She can't make me send the payment by moneygram, can she?

Thanks Shazzers. I need to hear this encouragement. I tend to break under pressure. I stay on this site so I can be encouraged by others and to be reassured that nothing terrible is going to happen to me. Have you made progress with your situation? I don't know if you are dealing with pdls or other things. If so, what has been your experience so far? I'm afraid they are going to call my supervisor or something. I'm not really scared about references, but I don't want my job to know.

Freaks...I am a Nurse and I had to tell my HR and Nurse manager. Stop thinking you are the only one who has to do this. I was petrified, and yes they called, but everyone has told them to reach me at home period. And you will have to send them that C&D letter if they do not comply?
both the HR and Manager were very supportive. And it sure beats waiting for those calls and being nervous about them.
Everyone these days has financial problems.

Thanks Egypt. You're right. Everyone does have financial problems right now. It just seems overwhelming right now. I haven't sent the c&d letter yet, but I think I will send it by email. So far (knock on wood) the only one who has called is webpayday. Have you managed to get a mailing address out of yours, or are you handling it another way?
Shazz, congratulations on being pdl free. I hope to say that very soon. My goal date is July of this year. If everything goes as planned, I should be able to be free of them at that time.

Freaks...you are ahead of me! I have to get new ink cartridges for my printer or go to the library or something to get the letters out!
Or I will e-mail them If I can't get an address. Like I am sure I won't get one from BIG and in fact I have no e-mail address for them, nor have they sent me loan papers/agreement ever. I have to go back over my statements, but I think I should only owe them a hundred or so?

freakmeout - WebPayDay claims to be licensed in Utah. No WebPayDay on the Utah licensee database. Nada. Nothing. I dealt with these idiots. I dealt directly with them. I got a refund of over $200 that I overpaid and a "paid in full" letter. Here is the information I have on them:
WebPayDay
320 W 200 St.
Ste. 350-B
Salt Lake City, Utah 84101
Phone: 800-814-5451
Fax: 800-814-4960
Fax: 866-870-0820
email: info(at)webpayday.com
email: loans(at)webpayday.com
Here's who I dealt with:
Ken Collum
email: kcollum(at)webpayday.com
They were VERY easy to deal with in my case. I sent them "the letter", they responded, I responded, we went around and around for a few emails, then I got it straight with this dude.
So, there's the information I have. Hope it helps!

Wow! This is great Cannr. So far I haven't gotten up the nerve to deal with them very much, but I plan to shoot them the email and letter in just a few minutes. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

One more thing. I managed to be able to pay them $140. I originally borrowed $400, and this is my first payment to them. (used a pre-paid visa from Wal-mart). So now, I only owe them $260 more, correct? They aren't licensed in my state, and like you said in the previous post, Cannr, you can't even find them in the state that they claim to be licensed in. They say I Owe them over $500 more dollars. I think that if they do not want to settle for the principal amount, then I'll see that they get their $400 back an forget about them.
