AG Letter part 1

ok...I filed all my complaints with the AG, they in turn said they would mediate on my behalf for a resolution. Two of my filed complaints were MTE. 1 was United Cash Loans and 1 was 1000 EasyPayday Loan. Now I had also filed them with the BBB and there seemed to be some confusion...or so I thought...United responded to the BBB and to me and I worked out a deal with them...they marked me PIF...it was all done under the name United. The one I filed as 100EPDL debited as MTE and responded as MTE that I hadn't answered their email offering me a resolution.(the only email I got in that context ws from United)I emailed 3times asking them to resend the email and I never got anything from MTE/1000 EPDL. Now I get a response from my AG with a statement from just MTE saying they tried to work with me but I never responded to them other than to email saying I hadn't recieved their offer. They also said they will not admit to any wrong doing but feel it is in the best interest of this customer to write off the balance and close the account. So did MTE/1000 Easy Payday Loan just mark me PIF?? Should I assume they are responding now as MTE/1000? My AG office suggested I accept the offer unless I wanted to take them to small claims court in re: to a refund. What do you think, am I PIF????

I'd read it as a PIF - just keep copies of everything. I plan on pulling my credit reports in about 6 months to make sure none of this stuff is on there.

morningstarr, the letter is from MTE stating you're account was written off and considered closed. You're done. You have it in writing. Keep it. And, as far as MTE turning anything in to the credit bureau, I seriously doubt it. I could be wrong! Lord knows! But it would easily be disputed if they did. Hello. An unlicensed/illegal company putting a black mark on your credit report? Oh, I think I'd have a field day with that! Consider yourself done and I'm saying congratulations to you! Something positive relating to MTE! And it happened to you! I think you may have made it to the history books with this one!

MTE Financial has responded to the AG explaining their part while dealing with you. The statement sent by MTE to your AG is a good proof but you must insist MTE to send something in writing directly to you with the account specifics. It will be more helpful to have something addressed directly to you.

morningstarr, was the response from MTE to your AG in the form of a separate letter? A letter from MTE stating that they wrote it off and it's closed? If that's the case, you have a letter from MTE stating the fact. If it was just "included" in your response from the AG, I guess I would ask for a separate letter from MTE stating that fact. But, from what I've gotten as responses, it's a separate letter from the pdl with their response. To me, that's written proof from the pdl that the account is resolved.

Nope...my contact at the AG actually sent me a copy of the letter MTE sent their office. I emailed MTE this morning saying I was in reciept of their response to my AG office and that I accepted their offer to close my account. I headed it to: MTE/1000 Easy Payday Loan so there was no question as to who I was responding to.

Morningstar- Weeswie is right-get something in writing from them saying this is paid in full, or something. You don't want them selling this to someone else!..Karen I don't know if they are like credit cards, where they charge off your balance nad close it, then turn around and sell the balance to a bottom feeder!..Good Luck Very Happy

morningstarr, it's worth a shot. But I wouldn't hold my breath for MTE to do you any "favors" by sending you something personally. I would think (I could be wrong) that the letter to your state AG from them would be good. It's a separate letter, addressed to your state AG. I know MTE is stupid, but it would be REALLY stupid to go and "sell" your closed account to someone when they responded to your state AG stating it was closed.

Well I will keep that letter for sure...and I printed off the email I sent them accepting their closing my account...even if they don't respond I have their letter and mine..I am sure anyone would question why they didn't answer if they didn't agree 2 years from now...

Yes! Keep your email! It shows your attempt at contacting them! That way they can't claim the old "we didn't hear from her" story. Idiots. I can't tell you how many emails I have saved that I've sent that never got responded to. However, I feel as though I have proof enough to have something over on them if they try to pull anything on me. I mean, how can they argue with me when I have like 30 emails I sent demanding a response? LOL! Laughing

Congratulations! As eveyone said, just keep all the paperwork. But it sounds to me like once the AG stepped in MTE gave up on collecting anymore money from you!
