I am in the same stupid boat with these payday loans. I tried to close my bank account, however they told me that any ACH's that come through will open my account back up. Any advice?

klc, my bank was the same way. Go in and rather than close it at the very moment, ask them to put a hard debit block/hard hold/freeze on it. Tell them NOTHING is to go through. No ACH debits, no checks, not even YOU can use it. It will still be an open account; however, NOTHING will go through. And no NSF fees should be accrued. Everything should be returned. Do you have another bank account already, so that you will have a working bank account that you can use?

Default MTE Financial

I too have them taking money out of my account and I did get one number but it is automatic. I emailed everyday darn company listed under mte whatever and warned them I would stop payment if they tried again, I have no paperwork or anything that says I agreed to a loan from them. I applied but I never received anything in the form of a loan agreement as I did with other companies. So "screw them", I bet them will contact me now. If this doesn't work I will close that account and open another one. NO NOE TAKES MY MONEY AS THEY CHOSE.

If you're in Maryland, please contact the address listed for the MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation; they've been a great help in getting me out of the payday loan mess.

Donna, you have an MTE related pdl? But, you're unsure of which d/b/a it was under? It should tell you next to the debits the name of the company they are using. I can give you MTE's information; however, if it's one of their d/b/a's, it'll be a different address/phone. Also, please know that MTE and all of their d/b/a's are completely unlicensed/illegal. Here is MTE's information:

MTE Financial Services
Phone: (866) 213-0268
Fax: (866) 539-7503
Address: 515 G S.E.
Miami, OK 74355

If you can tell me which d/b/a they are using, I can get the information on them. The majority of the time, MTE will claim they "are not" who they are. So, if you can find out which name they are using when debiting, I can get you the address and phone number.

Most likely it is through "them", MTE Financial Services. Sometimes they go by their own name and other times they use a d/b/a. So, the above informatin is correct regarding this for you. If you need anything, just post!

Is it saying "Nebraska National Banking Conference" when you call? I just called it and that's the recording I got. I got that telephone number for MTE straight from the BBB website. What the hell? Is there a phone number next to the name on your debits on your bank statement?

I did a Google search and found this phone number and fax number:

Phone - 866-539-7504
Fax - 866-539-7503

I called the telephone number and the recording came on with no name (not a surprise for a pdl) and said "Welcome to customer service. In order to access your account information, please enter your social security number." So.... this might be a correct phone number.

Went back to the BBB site and put in 866-539-7504. It comes up as Quickest-Cash-Advance, which is one of MTE's d/b/a's.

Went back again to the BBB site and put in 866-213-0268 and it comes up as MTE Financial Services.

Now, this may mean that MTE changed their phone number, which is NOT a surprise for a pdl to do.

Just wanted to let you know I checked and that's what I came up with.

Call Intercept EFT at 1-800-378-3328. I believe that is the ACH processor for any of their dbas, it doesn't make a difference. Ask for the processing department and they will be able to insure there are no ACH attempts on your account. Revoke authorization with them and explain how their client has abused you. I believe that will work. If that is not the correct processor, contact your bank and ask them for the processor information. Please let us know how that works out. Good luck.

Will the bank know who the processor is if this member asks? And, also will they release the information to this member?

Absolutely. The bank actually does not have the information of MTE, only the processor. The processor, on the other hand, has a financial arrangement with MTE. MTE chooses, when they set up their account with the processor, what they would like displayed on bank statements of...ahem..."customers". The bank only deals with processors and will be able to give this information readily. The processor is a very legitimate company and easily contacted. They will turn over MTE. From that point, be certain to maintain contact with the processor as well as MTE. You'll keep them in line.
