mrayhill, do you know which one of MTE's d/b/a's it is? Or is the pdl in MTE's name? I'll tell you right now they are illegal as all hell. Not licensed/legal to lend in any state in the US. You've had them debiting your account since August 2007? Probably about 90.00 twice a month? I'm guessing here. That's approximately 1,440.00. That's just my estimate by your date. How much was the loan for? Probably like 300.00? Maybe? Can you tell me what state you reside in, how much you borrowed, and verify if the debits I came up with are accurate or not. And, your bank account - I'm going to assume it's still open/active and they are still debiting? Please let me know. We can help you with these guys. They will debit you forever (as you're finding out now). You are not alone. If you want help, just post. We are here for you.

Oh yes, MTE/United Cash Loans; they called me yesterday and said they were going to "start proceedings against me." (this is about the 8th time they've said that) I told them to send me something in writing, on their company letterhead that their operations are indeed legal in the State of Maryland, where PDL's are prohibited. The guy hung up on me. I'll repeat what others have posted here - stick to your guns and don't let them intimidate you!

If you have some sort of financial regulatory commission in your State government, you might try contacting them to see if they're licensed in your State. They might also be able to give you some other helpful advice on dealing with these people.

How does a person get a payday loan company to abide by the laws. I have a loan in Colorado and they are suppose to be able to let me pay it back in six months and once a month but right now it is set up for every two weeks for just the finance charge and then on the fifth time the finance charge plus $50.

if they are not located

on an indian reservation where are they located. anyone has any idea how we could stop these people from lending money out to people who don't have it and the banks got their bailout how bout us normal folks who have been falling behind on paying bills. And the Gop wants to make the situation in this country worse. Hope everyone doesn't vote for them cause i see this country in worse shape if they take over the house and senate.
