I had a pdl w/ my cash now about a year and a half ago for $500. I had been paying on it endlessly. I closed my bank account b/c I was drowning in pdl fees (I had others too). I neg/resolved most and paid MCN a final payment of $500. Yesterday I got a call from some guy saying that he represents a group that is part of the National Attorney Network. He said that they were getting ready to send me a summons to get a judgement against me for $5000 and might persue intent to defraud charges. He said that I could pay $2800 in monthly payments to avoid this. He said that they had even sent a letter to my mortgage company. Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone ever dealt with this? Any advice is welcome.

If you have documentation of payment in full, tell them to bring it on! With your proof of payment, they will pay all additional fees.

What does your mortgage company have to do with this is what I am wondering. I wouldn't pay them a dime without written documentation.

Have you gotten served with paper work by a process server? They can't just get a judgment against you without serving you with intent to sue paperwork. If you've been served you would be aware of their intent and pending judgment, sounds like a scare tactic to me.

MyCashNow and their associates are real stinkers, anyhow. If you have proof of payment (bank statements w/ the ACH's, copies of all paperwork, contracts, etc., w/ MyCashNow), I doubt they can do anything to you if you paid them in full. I may be wrong, but isn't MyCashNow pretty much illegal everywhere, anyway? I would definitely ask them to send you something in writing on company letterhead stating what you owe and that they are in fact collecting on a legal debt. I also have to wonder what in the world your mortgage company would have to do with this? Sounds like a scare tactic to me.

you are right.they are illegal everywhere.everything they told the OP is a scare tactic and illegal.if by some miracle they did send something to there mortgage co. it would probably be a fraudulant document.then the OP can go after them big time, but i doubt that they did that.
