I was looking up nationwidecash.com and found this on the bbb site:

This company's license # 01413 with the New Mexico Financial Institutions Division as a small loan company was surrendered on 10/14/2008 due to the business closure.

Has anyone heard of this? What exactly does this mean?

It means that they determined that they could not do business in NM under the state regulations and decided to close thier business. Another possibility is that they sold the business to another company and thier customer base was absorbed by the new company. Since there was nothing of value left in the original company, the returned the license to the state.
