Earlier today a 1-866-808-1188 number with a womaning saying she is from National Check Restituion Services called my family to say they were giving a formal call to notify me that an attorney would soon be sending me a court summons due to a bounced check. I am in the process of digging myself out of the payday loan hole, I have closed my bank account and sent letters to the companies whom I owe. Im assuming these people are a payday loan collector as I dont owe anyone else any unpaid debts. When I called the number back it went to a voicemail calling themselves ACD group. Ive googled NCRS, National Check Restituion Services and ACD Group but get nothing. When googling the 866 number Ive found a few posts of people saying they are just a scare tactic collection agency, but one person also said they were actually sued (not sure whether to believe that or not, perhaps it was a post from someone at the company to scare?)
Im just wondering if anyone else has heard of these people as Im having trouble finding anything about them. I appreciate any help.

they are like CHECK RESOLUTION,ADMINISTRATION,etc..etc.you are right about the one poster.shills are everywhere, but this is a bottomfeeder that preys on people, and is counting on them just giving them bank info based on fear.if you ever get caught talking to them.demand something in writing.then hang up,and don't speak to them again.i also couldn't find a thing with any search.tells you something..doesn't it.
This is what I found for National Check Restitution Service.

Looks to be like a new company since none of the testimonials have been added.
Didn't find anything for ACD Group but I did find a ACM Group (Assest Capital Management Group) i.e. collection agency
I know it's not much but that's what I've found out.
But what if is wasnt a shill and someone really did get sued by them. It is scary

sorry, but of all the posts that is the only one saying that.my shill alarm goes off on that.
I also received a call yesterday from a David Ryan on my answering machine claiming to have received a fax on me from the company. I am glad other people have also because I was scared at first receiving this threatening phone call. He claimed that if I didn't contact the company that there would be legal action. I find it odd that I have never received any mail or anything in writing from them. They just call out of the blue. Debt agencies always send mail and make phone calls. I sent them a letter stating that I needed to see this in writing. So I will wait and see if they send me anything. I did some research and looked up this company. All I found was negative responses making this look like some kind of scam. They also received an F grade from the better business bureau.
Received a message from my family members today regarding this National Check Restitution Service. Claimed I was being served for 1,400.00 on a 300.00 loan with check n go. Yes, I know I owe the debt (totally forgot about it), but I never received any official validation in the mail. They said I can settle for 500.00. When asked if they can validate it, said they'll send via email. I called check n' go and they are not affiliated with them! Also, they claimed the check is for a closed account since 2008. By California (where I am) law, any payday loan company could not prosecute the check writer as writing a bad check. Please help! Any advice would be great! Also, did anyone ever get "served" from this company? After they posted this reply?

well, even if they were not a shill, which i sincerely doubt is even a possibility, i still would never in a million years give anyone my banking information over the phone. even if a company is legit, they still must send something in writing for me to even consider speaking to them/
to the poster above me, if you were going to be served, they would not call you to warn you, they would just send a process server or a sheriff officer with papers for you to sign for. if you really want to know if you will be served you can call superior court and asked if they have a judgement or docket number in your name.
i would request validation and tell them an email will not cut it.. they need to send you something on their letterhead proving they have this debt. is check n go a storefront? have you contacted their corporate office?
No, they aren't real. Bad checks are a criminal matter. If they were in any way serious about this, they'd go to the police, not a "lawyer".
Okay, I asked them to send something to me to validate the debt. They then sent something via email. However, on the original conversation they stated the name check n go, however on the email it states cash n' go. At this point I am so confused! Do I ask them to send me the original documents with my signature? Any advice is great!
