I am new, but have been reading these forums all day. What a relief! I lost my full time job, and will need to negotiate with some pdl's very soon in regards to remaining balances due.

I called the dept of banking and finance in Nebraska, and did find out that the internet payday loans I have are illegal. I don't want to "stiff" them, just want a decent rate to be able to pay them back.

Does anyone have a "form" letter I can either email or fax them indicating that I do know they are not supposed to be lending in my state?

Any help would be appreciated!

If these loans are illegal then I wouldn't pay them anymore then the amount I borrowed, less any payments I had already made. Illegal lenders don't deserve to be compensated in any way. If you want a letter CLICK HERE and scroll down to about midway, you can tailor this letter to suit your needs.
