I am sort of confused by your question.

I assume you live in NC (were PDLs are illegal) but you took the loans out in SC (were the loans are legal).

If you give us the names of the store fronts we can help more. Most store fronts will allow you to do an EPP (Extended Payment Plan) that will split the payments into 4 equal payments over four pay days.

I am not sure how you got a $600 loan as the max in SC is $300. Is that one an internet loan? If so we need the name of the company to help you more.

You have apparently led them (SC lenders) to believe you were a citizen of SC or they wouldn't have loaned you any money, therefore, my best guess is, you can probably be charged with more than just defaulting, they might be able to charge you with fraud for giving them inaccurate information?? I would check into that before I defaulted on those loans. I'm not possitive, just using common sense.

You could call the NC Attorney General's Office at (919) 716-6400 to find out for sure. Keep checking back as someone else may have some useful information for you. Good luck.

With Advance America, Checkmate and Check into Cash you can request an EPP(Extended Payment Plan). They can split the amount you owe into four equal payments over four pay days.

I am not sure about Carolina Cash but you can ask them.

If you make the payments then you do not have to default. You can pay them off and be rid of them.

I would say you are going to have to be obligated to pay the payday loans back. You can request for an extended pay plan from the companies, but you're not going to get out of paying for them. Something that is important to know is that its illegal for them to lend in your state. It's not illegal to lend to you. You went to their state to get the money, so they legally gave you the money. They do not have to follow North Carolina law because you took them out there. Once you went over state lines, you were no longer protected by the laws of your state, but must abide by the laws of South Carolina. It would be a different story if you were on North Carolina soil when you asked for the money.

Your best bet is to contact the companies and working out a payment plan and hopefully they will cooperate with you. Good luck.
