Seems PD loans in the state of Ohio will soon be a thing of the past. Don't know the details but some sort of legislation passed today thats gonna put a serious hurting on the these predators!! It's not going to outlaw them, but one payday loan shop owner was on TV tonight and said it will put all show out of business. He said the restrictions are soooo tight, no way any PD loan shops could survive. anyone got anymore info on this!!

So, did the Ohio legislature put an interest cap on them that they won't be able to charge their usual high interest rates? And that will put them out of business? Isn't that too bad? Very Happy

I checked out the Akron Beacon newspaper site, and there were articles about the PDL's. One woman said she was caught in the trap, and I posted that THIS was the site to help her out. Perhaps if people who post here go to the various newspaper/tv/radio sites in Ohio and other places where PDL stories are posted and mention this site and what people can do, it might help? There's not a lot of online sites to help people get out of PDL's, people need to be made aware that there IS hope.

In checking out this forum , I found nothing new, and certainly nothing to help anybody get out of their cycle of debt. Just the came old info, what a waste of time.

KV, I don't know about you, but I found plenty of good advice to help me get out of the PDL's. "Just the same old info?" This is one of a very, very few sites that I've found that help people to break the PDl cycle.

A small word of warning; if you go to any of the news sites to post comments on PDL's, there will be a number of posts along the lines of "how could people be so stupid to get involved with those things," or "you knew what the interest rates were when you signed up," and so on. Don't let 'em get you down; we're all human, no one knows what life holds in store for us, so let's try to help people stay away from the PDl's!

Sum up the article I posted, they are going for 28% cap on PDL's, no more than $500 or 25% of your income, no more than 4 loans I believe a year, and internet pdl's will be prohibited.

I hope it passes.

I sure hope it passes in Ohio also! I have been trapped by these blood sucking companies for a year now! I can't handle it anymore!

Sorry..one last thing. I saw where Checksmart is closing I think May 7 because the PDL places are holding a rally downtown Columbus to fight the new law that is trying to be passed.
