HELP! I recently had my debit card stolen and the thief ran up a lot of charges. Now I am about to be in default with all my payday loans, store front and online. I cannot afford to pay them at this time. I will pay them back but I don't want to lose my check writing privileges or go to jail. Can you advise?

Aaron, Welcome to the fourm. We can try to help you but we need a little more information....you have both storefront and internet loans? First, what state are you in. Second, did you file a police report? When will the loans come due? and lastly, have you closed this account? It would also be helpful if you list who your loans are with and which are storefront or internet. Many members have experiences with the PDLS and are familiar with the companies and how to deal with them.

You are not responsible for the charges incurred by the theft. Have you contacted the fraud department of your bank. They will put a hard hold on your account so nothing goes through and you will not be charged NSF Fees!

I talked with my bank who only took off charges the thief made in the mean time my bank was $1000. in the red and i could not make any deposits. Meanwhile, some of my personal charges went through causing me to go further in debt.The bank will not close or freeze my account until after 30 days. I live in Texas and the loans are as follows.

First of all let me say thank you for your posts. I have really learned a lot and right now I am looking into getting T & C to assist me. Even though some of my loans are in default, I have been fortunate that most of the people I have dealt with have been understanding. I reviewed a tape where the thief who took my bank card used at a specific location and identified them. Made me feel a little better. I spoke with Speedy Cash and they told me they do not work with consolidation companies. What shall I do now?

I would like to know, since i am dealing with CSO's, my account will be closed due to the theft of my account, not because of PDL's. Can they still charge me with a bad check?
