Maryland resident pdl from AIG

PostPosted: Tue Jan 15, 2008 4:45 pm Subject: Maryland resident pdl from AIG

I could not longer afford to pay AIG $89 per day. Bank of America has charged me so many NSF fees from AIG that my account is now $590 overdrawn and I do not have the money to repay BOA. My original loan amount w/ AIG was $200 and of course the extension fee of $89.00 per PD. Do I still have to repay AIG? I have paid them back more than $1400. Can someone please help me out w/ this one? Thanks a million.

Have you tried looking in the search engine above, I have never personally heard of this company, but you paying 1400 dollars, IMO you should be asking for a refund, but someone should be along shortly to help u, just hold on

i did some research it seems that this company is legally licensed to loan, so you may want to talk to them about a payment plan, did you continue to renew or something?

How can a company be legally licensed to loan in a state that the loans are prohibited?

You're right Goudah, I was just sitting here thinking, thanks for catching me on that one!

How is that possible? This person must have went into another state, thats the only thing I keep coming up with, but I looked online at the license website and they are licensed and I was looking at MD, im very confused right now

What do you think Goudah??

AIG is also an insurance company...

We need to find out what the name of this PDL really is as the poster has noted AIG and AIP.

As we have all seen here, just because they arent licensed or PDL's are prohibited in their state, will not stop the legit PDL's from issuing the loan.

Thanks for everyone's help. AIP is the company I received the loan from. I filed a complaint w/ the bbb this morning. I went back and check my bank account and w/ the NSF's fees, the grand total is almost $3000 and my account is still 590 overdrawn. I no longer make deposits into this account. I did let the BBB know that AIP owe me some damn money. Thank you everyone for your help. I should have to pay Bank of America back.

If you send them a letter revoking ach transactions, and show it to the bank then that will help so they wont get anymore!

And thanks for coming back, I was wondering :0

If you're in Maryland and are having payday loan problems, please call the number given for the MD Commissioner of Financial Regulation; I've been working with them and they've been extremely helpful! And I'd ask, have you talked to your bank about what's going on? A bank as large as Bank of America, I'd imagine they'd have had customers w/ payday loan problems before.
