kris, your bank - once you send a deposit in and get it back into the positive status, ask them to please CLOSE it. Ask them if anything will "force" it back open. If the answer is yes, then tell them to put a "hard debit block" on it. ameriloan stated they are going to send an electronic check through. They will do this. Believe me. Tell the bank (if you want a story) that a "so called friend" got your bank information and is running rampent with it. Like goudah said, do not say anything about pay day loans. Tell them someone got your bank account information. It needs to be closed. Ameriloan is going to be putting a check through soon. You can count on that one. Remember if they tell you that it can be "forced" open, they need to put a "hard debit block" on it. It'll block the check from Ameriloan. Nothing will go through. Make sure they do one or the other. Because soon, they're all going to hit. United Cash Loans email to you sounds odd to me. They have a "question" regarding your "application"?? What? Probably just a way to get you to call them. However, in answer to your last question, please file all your complaints. You should have done this already. Get them filed as soon as you can. Start first with the BBB. Then go to the FTC. Then go to your state AG. File on all of the internet loans. Each one separately. If you have any questions, just post.

Again, that last post was me. And, yeah, I thought that United Cash Loans e-mail was odd, too, but I figured it was just a way to try to get me to call. I'll file those complaints this weekend and I'll do what you said with the bank account. Thanks!

I'd file with the BBB for all the companies. As well as your DFI and AG's office too. The more complaints the better!

Good! You are off to a good solid start! Keep posting updates for us, and any questions you may have.

The bank account is the main priority. It's got to get protected. Next time you call, I really wouldn't even mention payday loan. Just stress fraudulent and unauthorized transactions may occur because some scam companies have your account information.

Now that all the NSF charges have hit, my account is overdrawn about $350. I don't have that much to send in to bring it positive yet. I tried telling the bank someone was using my information without my authorization, i.e., someone had gotten my account info and was running rampant with it, but they didn't seem to care too much. They won't close while it has a negative balance, they won't waive any fees. They'll put a block on those five companies (and I do have the option of choosing "any amount," so if they got sneaky and tried to debit any old amount, that wouldn't work. It doesn't solve their name-changing shenanigans, though), which they'll charge me fees for, but not until I've paid the overdrawn amount plus pay the fees for the additional blocks.

I have filed almost all of the complaints. I'm still working on the AG complaints.

Is there anything else I can work on, any further letters to these PDLs or anything, while I'm working on getting the money to send to the bank?

Thanks!

kris, this sucks. Okay. You've sent out the "letters" to all your pdl's, right? You've filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG, right? If so, then it's going to be a "waiting game" now. As far as your bank, can they not do a TOTAL debit block on the account? Just blocking those names may not work. These pdl's will use another name to sneak debits through. It just worries me. I'm afraid that they're going to slide something else through and your account will continue to get deeper into the negative. Can you ask them about putting a TOTAL block on the account? There honestly is no reason that they can't. They can do this. If they say "no", can you please ask them the reason they can't do this?

Yes, this definitely sucks!!

I've sent the revocation letters to all the PDLs. I've filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, and DFI and am working on the AG complaints (I have to go to the library and print out the complaint forms, then I assume print pertinent e-mails and copy paperwork, etc).

I tell ya, I'm pretty worried about my bank account getting more and more negative, too... in one conversation, the bank mentioned they would freeze the account once it got "too negative" (I'm paraphrasing there), but I have no idea at what point that is. The bank keeps saying they can't put any kind of block on it until it has a positive balance. I'll have to call them again and try again and find out why they say they can't put a total block.
Thanks!

kris, you're doing good. It's your bank that's causing the main problem here. They CAN put a block on it. I understand they can not CLOSE it because it is in the negative. Fine. However, they CAN put a block on it. I get so ticked off when these banks do not help their customers. If they were talking about putting a "freeze" on it, tell them to do that NOW. If they're waiting for it to go even further into the negative, that's just showing you that they're trying to get as much fees out of you as possible. Tell them you need a total debit block or a freeze. Be very persistant about this. Oh, it just makes me so mad.

UnitedCashLoans replied to my BBB complaint - I'm posting their reply - Can someone help me on how I should reply? It's good that they agreed to just take the principal, but there's no way I can pay the whole principal amount - $300 - by October 5th. I'd have to make payments.

Okay, kris. Standard form email response. However, if you agree to the amount, then do this - counteroffer. I personally have not done this with MTE; however, others have and it has been accepted. Respond back with agreeing with the amount; however, it can not be by October 5th. Tell them when you can send payment. It's worth a shot. I've read others counteroffer and they accept it. Okay? Of course you can't pay that by that date. That's insane. Counteroffer. See what happens. It's worked with others here.
