I just got a call from a "Miss Peterson" saying she from ARM representing Paycheck Today. Saying that I should seek legal rep. because they are going to legally seek action on collecting this debt. I was wondering if Paycheck Today is a legal or illegal payday loan. If it is a legal one, I will work with them. But if they are not they are just going to have to wait. I am in Wisconsin.

Paycheck Today doesn't appear to be licensed in WI--I just ran a search on WI's database. I've read other posts from Wisconsinites (what do you guys call yourselves anyway?) saying the DFI has been very helpful to them when dealing with PaycheckToday. Don't hesitate to get them involved if ARM starts harassing you (which they're known for).

I have no clue what we call ourselves. I am being the process of filing Chapter 128 so I just want to get everything together before I send in the paperwork. I just keep record of everything they call so I have a papertrail on them.

Does anyone else any advise on dealing with them? The worst part about it is that they called me at work. Does anyone have a fax number I can fax them a C&D again.

I just finished dealing with them and Cash Advance Network all part of MTE. PCT is not legal and Arm is not licensed to collect in my state. I filed a complaint with the Florida BBB and ARM responded with a letter saying my account is now closed and they had no idea these companies were illegal and unlicensed to lend to AZ residents.

Did they use the tag team? First a female and then a male takes over? File a complaint asap with the Florida BBB and Florida AG's office as well as the AG in your state and mention to the BBB their collection tactics.

Next time they call tell them they are on a recorded line they will hang up and the calls will stop when the BBB contacts them.

Nope. It was just a Miss Peterson telling me to seek legal rep. LOL I keep on telling her that I was in the middle of some testing (I am a chemist) and she kept wanting to take a break. I wanted to say "Honey, you are not going to scare me into giving you my new banking info."

Just for clarification was it ARM of Florida? There is another ARM not related to this one.

i am currently dealing with both paychecktoday and can, so far those have been the worst 2 companies i have ever dealt with in my life, especially paychecktoday, that lady is so horrably nasty i couldnt believe it. atleast i got the c&d letter to can right before i defaulted so all i get is stupid emails about how i am a fraud and they are filing action and turn me into the attorny general. but i'm sure if i called them they would be just as nasty as paychecktoday.

I got a loan from them and they took the first payment but they have not taken the second one. Should I be concerned?

There was another post on here stating that their website said they were have technical problems. I am hoping they are having legal problems. lol I am going to check their site now.

Well I checked it out and it does not say anything about technical problems but maybe you have to apply before that comes up. Lets hope they are on their way down.

i checked can website, my wife has an old account, when i logged in last week the disclosure said due to technical difficulties no new loans can be granted. this time it just looked normal. but it sounds like can and paychecktoday were having the same problem so it must have been somthing with mte.

I would not worry about either company. I had a loan with each one not realizing they are illegal in NY. I had paid well over the principle amount of the loans when I found that out. I contacted them and the Paycheck Today rep was ridiculous. She said I was at fault and that if my next payment didn't go through she was going to have me arrested. CAN was just clueless when I talked to them. I file AG complaints and never heard from them again. I would not sweat it if I were you....good luck.
