PDL Assitance Any Good?????

I am new to this PDL forum. I signed up to work with PDL assistance and paid them $200, which is non-refundable. I am now not very impressed with them. Every time I call I have to hold for like 15 minutes to speak to any one. I have been told by PDL Asst. to have all my lenders call them. My lenders are saying they cannot get thru to anyone with PDL Asst., & I know for a fact that they are having trouble getting thru to them. I have now settled with two of my lenders b/c they will not deal with PDL Asst. I also have called twice to speak with PDL Asst's supervisor & twice have been told that he will call me right back. I have never heard back from them. I am afraid they are scamming me. Should I just cancel my account with PDL Asst. & attempt to contact all my lenders & try to settle with them on my own???? Someone with experience with PDL asst. please help!!!!

Well I am only speaking on behalf and my experience but you could probably settle them yourself as long as you are comfortable doing so. Unfortunately, you have already given them $200.00 non-refundable deposit so that is a decision that you will have to make on your own, but it sounds like you have done a good job on settling the two that you had.

Did you check out the BBB report on them before you hired them? If you don't get any satisfication with them you might try filing a complaint against them with the BBB and maybe even your state attorney general's office.

PDL Assistance is not scamming you. You have to remember the pay day loan company's , as well as credit card company's , collection agency's all train their collectors to say anything to make you pay them. You would rather you continue paying the high interest than settling. I should know , I have worked in the Credit Card industry , Settlement and credit counseling industry for years. As far as you trying to get through to a supervisor , I would call them and insist on speaking with the Manager or someone higher up and if they don`t get some one on the phone you will file a complaint with the BBB. I assure you they will get you a manager. It sounds like you may have just spoken with a bone head who didn`t relay the message. I know they are not a scam but it does sound like the person you spoke with needs a little training in better customer service.

Hello Awarnick,
I say do it yourself! I too was looking into going with PDL Assistance but soon became fustrated and turned off with their customer service practices. You can do it yourself believe me! I had 11 PDLs and now have 1 I am dealing with. I did it all on my own and only did it in 2 months time. I saved tons of money too! This forum helped me out tremendously and I am still working on getting my much deserved refunds from these loan sharks! It does get a little fustrating at times, but when you have the LAW on your side. Why pay some one money for something you can do yourself for free. Like I said PDL Assistance is a counterpart of Fidelity Reserve Corp, so you can look them both up on the BBB. I have heard of them helping customers in the past, so they DO work! But if you settled 2 on your own, why pay anymore fees to do something YOU can do? Think about it!

You are welcome Awarnick. Trust me, many people on this website has taken charge of their own finances and it has worked! I too was adiment about the whole thing at first. But I figured, what do I have to loose! I already paid hundreds in fees, why pay some company hundreds more with no guarentee?? So I did it myself! Razz

So how do you settle with the PDL companies?

What do you say to them to get them to settle?

Thanks for any guidance in this.

BD, I think it depends a lot on which companies you are dealing with. In order for the good folks on this forum to advise you, you need to provide the following information:

what state do you live in?
store front or internet PDLs?
amount borrowed from each?
amount paid to each?

I agree. It does depend on many factors like alias said. If you can provide us with the info requested, we can help. Personally, I spoke with Langhorne and I didn't like what I was being told one bit. It was going to be costly for me to settle using the plan. I know they are in business to make money but I feel they are not much better than the PDL themselves when they are asking me to "settle" for hundreds over what I have already paid. I had 5 PDLs when I came here in February and in the beginning of May they were all gone! You can do this yourself but it will take time and perseverance. I think the PDL industry is taking more heat over this with the mounds of letters that are being sent to the authorities. It's just a matter of time before they all go down. Keep up the good work and don't look back. One foot in front of the other. We have all been there, done that. . . AND. . . we are all still here helping others who come for help. Please supply the info needed to start moving you along.

So far, I have been dealing with Town and Country out of Birmingham, Alabama. They have a good BBB report and they said they specialize in pdls. I put all but one of mine with them. We shall see what happens, but to be on the safe side, I put a temporary freeze on one of my bank accounts and stopped payment on the checks with another account. either way, we see light at the end of this tunnel and it's not an oncoming train!

I work for a payday loan company and we have tried to work with this company...we call the number and leave a msg but NO ONE EVER returns our calls....I have even asked to speak to a mananger and the lady refused to let me speak with one....we did not know about the $200.00 fee until I read your comment...We feel like this company is a fruad company and you would be better to deal with the payday loan company before going with them...we will work with you and will settle your account just like this company says they will....hopefully we are not right about them but I have a bad feeling...good luck

Hello all-This website has been very eye opening-I spoke with a very nice CS Rep from PDL assistance, and he made it seem like this was going to be the best step I've ever taken in signing up with PDL Assistance. I've since then had serious doubts about whether or not to sign their contract, but my question is, how do I settle these by myself? What direction do I go in?

MexiGirl, welcome! First of all, you might want to start your own thread in the payday loan forum. Since this thread is old, you might get more responses if you started a new one.

Also, in order for folks to start pointing you in the right direction, you need to provide some additional information:

Name of each company
Whether it is internet or store front
Amount originally borrowed from each one
Amount paid so far to each one
What state you are in

Once you post that information, someone should be able to help you out.
