tactics used by pdl borders on extortion, don't you think? I've read so many of the posts here, and something just kept nagging at me and that something just popped into my head....extortion. So I looked up the definition in Webster's Dictionary and it says 'extort..to get (money, etc) from someone by force or threats'. Extortion coupled with coercion(defined as 'to force, compel') really are illegal activities. I bet a good many of you suffers from mental anguish. This is so very heartbreaking...I only dealt with 2 for a couple of months...I see some of you have dealt with 10, 12, 15 pdls for years! I would talk to an attorney....has anyone on these forums ever sought legal council?

I dealt with them for several years, and I have been told everything from "Good Luck." to "We will arrest you at your job and you will be humiliated among your co-workers." Since most of them have no legal right to lend, they also don't care if their collections tactics are illegal. I never had to sekk legal counsel because internet PDLs are illegal in my state. Do you know what they legal staus of PDLs is in your state?

I live in PA. How can I find out which PDL's are legal in my state? Does anyone know if there is some kind of list, or something?

I did not know about pay day loans until I came to this site and I am shocked at the way they treat people. I agree that this is extortion. They are very much like loan sharks and they feed right out in the open, with many agencies turning a blind eye to them. They prey on peoples weaknesses like so many of those “get rich quick” scams.
