PDL companies worried about sites like this?

It would seem that the PDL's have taken notice to internet sites such as ours. My wife received a settlement offer (they pay her $250) and part of that settlement offer is a confidentiality agreement that specifically prohibits discussing the settlement on the internet along with the typical, this case is dropped, you cannot sue blah blah blah.

LoneGunman, congrats to your wife on the settlement. Several of us have received the same agreement. As you know they troll this site so be careful what you post after you sign. You did not put specifics which is good. I have seen people post the actual agreement... that is worrisome because we know the PDLS visit. I am really happy for you both. Good work!

WoooHoooo, congrats Lone!!!

Yes they do troll this site, I have had one read to me something I posted about their company. But my state took care of them for me. So all I can say is read away IPDL's, you know you are doing wrong and one day you will get screwed just like the way you are screwing millions of people. So all I can say is that when your company goes down, remember to buy soap on a rope, or stay against the wall.

Paul, good point about them trying to scare people, I wonder why the moderators are allowing the troll posts to stay.

I don't think conflicting opinions should be removed or even posts by troll collectors but if they are posting false informations as they are they should be removed.

LG, I was initially thinking the same as you. I've mellowed with time and talking with some of the mods, though. There is an incredible amount of tolerance by the mods/admin on this board. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

For my part, I've been known to bust the occasional troll or CA shill. Twisted Evil I don't like the idea of folks being scared off from this board or given bad info, so I point up the troll posts as I find'em.

Sounds about right. Assuming that she takes the agreement and the $250, then she's stuck with the agreement. You should make certain that your wife doesn't breathe a word of it online. After all, your wife would have agreed to these terms, right?

Do we understand each other in this? If not, shoot me a PM and I'll elaborate on it a bit.

uncle, I agree tolerance is a good thing, theres a thin line between removing troll posts and removing posts by someone with an opposing view. I hope my post didn't come off as saying the mods are not doing their jobs, that was not my intention.

I guess you are right, the trolls regularly get called out on their posts, so any new member can probably see they are full of shit.

I hear you loud and clear in the second post. I was intentionally vague but when I see their name pop up I will be letting people know that they will fold and fold easily.

Congrats on the settlement!!! Very Happy

As for the trolling by PDLS..As a moderator, I have specific rules I have to follow. Just like everyone has guidelines for posting, we have guidelines for deleting. Even though none of us agree with what they generally have to say or the drama that they usually cause, unless they are lewd or contain a personal attack we are obligated to let them stay. Sad

I have to say, though, it has gotten much much better. I have been here for 2 years now, and the spam from PDLS when I first came here is much greater than it is now.

As a moderator I bend over backwards to be tolerant of opposing views, but when I see something getting personal towards another member, that's when I move to lock a thread or in worst cases, delete a post. Attacks like that are something we must not tolerate.

Exactly!! And no swear words!! It's really hard to be tolerant, but we have to let the silly "pay your bills so I can get rich" threads stay.

That's right, Fins. Even the trolls have a voice--but when they get hurtful is when we have to move. And all these stupid default on a PDL and go to jail, etc threads lead me to believe that it's getting slow in PDL land and the word is getting out about this hurtful practice, which means that Mr Troll has time to play on the internet and pull stunts like that. But we don't have to play his game--so just ignore him.
