Does anybody know if you can record a telephone conversation with these people if when they call or you call them you first say "Just so you are aware I will be recording all our conversations from this point on. OK?" is this legal and if they then use scare tactics or threats would you then have a case!!
Just thinking about turning the tables in our favor!!

I know collection calls can be recorded if it is secretly allowed in your state. Or if it requires permission from the other party, you just have to notify them of your actions. What state are you in?

In Wisconsin, you don't have to take the permission from the other party before recording the calls. See this
