came into work tonight only to have voice mail from a robert lewis. claiming to be an inhouse legal rep for payday-loan-yes. informing me that they are looking to press charges for fraud. from what i have read this is something they cant do. how should i respond to this dont want to keep getting calls at work.

You need to send them ( by email and you should by certified mail, too ) a cease and desist letter, instructing them that they are not authorized to contact you at your work numbers ( nor at your references, either, for good measure ) and that you will only correspond with them through email.

Also, they cannot press charges for fraud. They would have to prove that you intentionally wrote them a bad check to steal money from them. They cannot press criminal charges on a defaulted payday loan.

MR, Do as Amaranth said and send a letter, or if you have that clause in your pdl letter,resend that... Unfortunately, it is difficult to get them to stop calling. I had the operator send all my calls to voice mail and would reply to my calls with e-mails. Eventually they will stop calling. Should you actually talk to them, do not let them scare you. You know you can not be arrested, they will argue they can tell them to go ahead and hang up. Very Happy

I dealt with PDLyes and sent them a C&D letter. My brother-in-law is a lawyer. After he looked into it, he found out that First National is the parent co. of PDLyes and they are 1st party.The FDPCA has no effect on 1st party collections. My bro-i-l said I was stupid in the 1st place for taking out a PDL. I now agree. It's not PDLyes to blame, it's me.

BTW, my brother-i-l was able to settle my debt with PDLyes. i legitimately owed them. I dealt with 2 real assholes there, but the one guy who helped me take care of this was nice as could be. It seems not all bill collectors are assholes as everyone makes they out to be. Maybe if I took care of my finances better I wouldn't have to worry about them in the 1st place. But, alas, I'll be like everyone else and play victom and blame the bill colectors in the 1st place.

You apparently have not read any threads here. The complaints are not about the big bad meanie head collectors, but the vast amounts of ILLEGAL lending and ILLEGAL collection practices.

I Had the same guy calling and now there are two new ones. a MRS. Murphy and Mr. Elis they told me they would take legal action so I went out and laready sent 240.00 then I callaed my lawyer and he told me to ignore them and send all I can , as long as you maek some payments they cannot do anything ... Mr. Elis was so rude I told him I aLready reported him to ther Attorney General of Florida and he asked me if I was watching cartoons and was not understanding that I had to pay TODAY. that was yesterday and they are calling again today saying it is my last chance....

I know. We'll all victims of the ILLEGAL tactics they use. Boohoo. Maybe if you had enough sense in the 1st place you wouldn't have taken out a payday loan, or you would have read they they charge on average 800% interest.

If you borrow it and pay it back right away that's one thing (smart). If you don't pay it back right away and you default, it's not your fault. Stupidity is a valid excuse isn't it?

it's obvoius you work for this illegal company guiness.anybody who gets a loan with this bunch of jamokes owes the principal borrowed only.there is nothing you can say or do about it.your last line should have been

When I had a loan with Payday-Loan-Yes I delt with 2 different collectors, Robert Lewis who was a real prick and Hal Kreiger who was a nice dude. Hal told me that Robert Lewis was so mean because he was a closet homo. Hal also told me that he was a real "ladies man" and there wasn't a woman in the office that he hasn't had!

hmmm... if you use a credit card do you just pay the principle borrowed or do you pay the principle PLUS interest? Do you pay all the late fees and over the limit fees that they hit with with since you are too stupid to handle your own finances correctly in the first place?

I hope you never take out a mortgage and tell the banker that you'll only be paying him the principle and not the interest or any associated real estate fees. Wait! That's right, you take out PDLs, so that means you're credit is already shot in the a$$ and you'll either never get to buy a house. Or, you're one of those morons who are all part of the current housing/subprime credit fiasco.... "let me buy a bigger house, one I really can't afford after the ARM blows up in my face. Sure as shootin', I'll be back in my mama's doublewide in no time."

Meet Joe, you are an evil, obnoxious person. Why are you wasting your time writing your dribble?? Nobody here cares about your biggoted beliefs. Why dont you take your asinine comments somewhere else. People here clearly realize that they have made some mistakes and need to find a way to survive in this horrible economy. Not everyone here fits your preconcieved notion of who takes out loans. I for one have a masters degree, have never lived in a trailer. I made a mistake and got way above my head in debt. I have since paid what I owed and now come here to hopefully provide support and encouragement to others who are trying to get out of this mess. It is not the people who take out the loans that are wrong, it is the predatory lenders that suck desperate people into their webs. I personally get over 20 emails a week begging me to take a loan. I delete all of them. Why dont you get off your high horse and go do something that will help humankind rather than be the parasite that you are.
