I took a pdl out for $200 and I had to close my account because of all the fees & debits they tried to post on my account. Now, months later, I have Lawall & Assc. calling me threatening internet check fraud and I can go to jail if I dont send them $383, $200 = all the fees. Very scary. I live in Michigan and the firm is in Texas? Any advice?

isn't quickestcashadvance part of MTE?if so they are totally illegal.what there bottomfeeder CA did was illegal.debts are civil matters not criminal ones.to threaten arrest is an fdcpa violation.no legit collector would act like that.i'm also guessing they haven't sent you anything and refuse to do so.

No, they haven't sent me anything. The lady gave me 2 repayment options which I can't afford at this time. I do admit I took the pdl, but I never imagined I'd be charged with a felony. I called back to get the company name because I couldn't understand what she had said. When I asked them to please spell the name, they asked for my name. I told them it didn't matter because all I wanted was the spelling and then they hung up on me. About 10 minutes later a lady called me and told me she knew I called and asked for the name and she proceeded to spell it out for me. As far as I know, when the debits were coming out of my account, it WAS under MTE financial. I am so scared now. I've never done anything wrong and I just want to make it good. I also have 2 pdl storefronts here in Michigan that I've defaulted on. The only way I can repay them would be to work out a repayment plan, but their repayment plans are unaffordable also.

maybe if others reassure you,i promise you are not going anywhere because of this.you didn't commit any crime owing a debt.MTE is illegal everywhere.how much have you paid back in rollovers?since this was an illegal loan, any money taken out of your account goes toward that.again no felony was commited.well maybe by her for saying that to you.if you could
let me know how much total was taken out of your account i can help you with these mopes.

I will have to go home and look at my statements. This was months ago, but I'm pretty sure I paid back 2 or 3 increments of $75. By the time it was all said and done, I paid about $300 dollars in bank fees. I have somewhere I have to go, but I will be back with definite amounts. Thanks so much for helping me and making me more at ease. I look forward to chating with you again soon on this matter. This lady wants me to moneygram her the money tomorrow morning, but now I think I am going to wait and get my bank records and speak to you again. It was definitely MTE though and I didn't know they were illegal.

So today, the lady from Lawall & Assoc. called me at work. I asked her to send me something in writing and she refused. She stated that as a collection agency they were not required to send anything in writing; all they had to do was contact me by phone. She stated I was refusing to cooperate (which is not so because I told her I would be more that happy to work with her, I just needed something in writing regarding the collection) and that she would tell the attorney today and contact my local county clerk to resolve the matter. I told her she hadn't provided me enough information and that I had researched my legal rights. She then said "well, good luck" and hung up on me. I looked back in my bank records and they had already debited my old checking account for $75.00 3 different times. I wonder what they will do next? Any ideas? Did I do the right thing?

have you filed AG and FTC complaints yet?if not do so asap.this
illegal CA is breaking the law left and right.oh and as a CA they are required to send a letter 5 days after initial phone contact.this should provide some indication as to what kind of bottomfeeder you are dealing with.

No, I have not filed any complaints. Where do I go to file these complaints. I haven't received any paperwork EVER on this matter. Thank you so much for your responses. If it wasn't for you and all this website, I would of been so scared and never would of learned of my rights.

I've been dealing with them as well, haven't heard from them in awhile. They never sent me anything in the mail either and hung up on me as well. The guy Jermey Hill kept posing himself as a lawyer and trying to give me deadlines to make payment arrangements. I filed a complaint my AG office her in Illinois and I included a copy of a very unprofessional letter that I received from them via the bbb.org. They are so full of crap.
They stated in this letter they sent me something in the mail plus sent me a second letter via email. That was completly false because when I talked to the guy on the phone he stated they didn't have an email address on file for me. The last conversation I had with them I told them I was getting ready to go meet with my Lawyer and I haven't heard from them since...it's been close to a month.

I recieved a call from Lowall and Assocites yesterday telling me I owe them money. I was a victim of identity theft a couple of months ago and I told them this and that I do not have an account with BMG. The guy that called said I needed to send them money and I again told him the account wasn't mine. I asked him to send me something in writing and I would try and help them with an affidavid saying it was not my account. He said all he can send me is a form showing what I needed to send them (payment) and nothing else.
He too threatened me with the idea that I could be charged with a FELONY "Internet Check fraud". I told him I would see him in court. I hung up the phone.
I then called the company (BMG, Bahama Marketing Group) because he told me the PDL was with them, and they tell me that there is no account with them but I am "in collection" with anohter company, but she could not tell me which company and gave me the name of" I Collect "and the phone number. I called them and got only a recording and when it was finished I selected "8" to continue and guess what?..... I was then connected with BMG AGAIN. I hung up and now am finished with them.

I have been dealing with a Ms. Garcia. She stated she is going to meet with the attorney and the county clerk will get involved. I think it's funny that they won't send me anything in writing, but they can get my county clerk involved!

There is something definitely fishy with this business. I am now concerned on getting the phone calls to stop. I am hoping after today that they will. Let me know if you get any more calls from them. The lady I talked to at Lawall & Assoc. wouldn't even send me a form on what I owe. I checked with the Texas Bar and their 2 attornies are legal to practice law in Texas, but collections were not in their specialty category. I am still researching on how to nail these guys.

got news for you,if a lawyer is collecting they must obey the fdcpa just like any CA would.do not be intimidated by them.a lot of lawyers have been sued out of business by doing what they are doing to you.first file an AG complaint against
quickestcashadvance.then find a consumer lawyer on a contingency basis.time to look into your options dealing with these cretins.
