One Click Cash responded to the BBB, who just responded to me today via email. They informed BBB that my loan is in collections for $400 (on a $200 loan)but they would be willing to accept a reduced settlement of $100 to call it even. I had paid on this loan above the $200 amount. But they want their fees included. So they said $100 Money Gram would call it paid off. If I didn't accept the $100 Money Gram offer by 7/13, they will continue to pursue it in collections for $400 plus any accumulated fees. I responded to the BBB regarding the fact that they will only accept Money Gram payment (which I still don't understand that) and that IF I were to pay the $100, this would mark it PIF and CLOSED and I would not be contacted again? And I also responded that I wouldn't PAY the $100 by 7/13, but only use the date of 7/13 as a "response date". So now the BBB is going to send One Click Cash my response and we'll see what they say. I don't know if the BBB will contact me with their response or if One Click Cash will respond to me personally. If they do, it had only better be by email. No phone calls. So, what do you think? I figured out the $100 is to cover the returned ACH debits (LOL!)that they didn't get for fees. But I'm about ready to give them $100 for a guarantee of them marking it PIF and getting off my ass! Plus $100 sounds better than $400, but could I fight the $400? It's not sent OUT to collections. It's THEIR collections department, so they wouldn't negotiate fees, of course. Since that's what I've been fighting all along. What the hell?? Input, please!!

Cannr....the loans are illegal, we have paid the principle, we are fighting to stop these people from gouging more and more money from us. We want them closed down and gone...so why would you send them another $100.?? I got almost the same letter via the BBB yesterday from MTE.I refused their offer and still asked my account be pif.

If you are up for the battle, then I say forget about it. But if you are willing to pay the $100 to get a "Paid In Full" status to avoid the harassment, then go for it. It is a decision only you can make. If you have the $100 to send, demand a written letter stating your account is satisfied, and "Paid in Full".

Cannr, Heck no I agree with Anthony dont give them a dime more. They are ILLEGAL in your state. Give the AG a little more time. But Steelers had a good point sometimes it is good just to be done with them. I will leave it up to you. But if it was me I would fight. KYSIDE38

cannr,
This is truly your own decision as Steelers suggested. But I know that you have the fight in you if you are up to it. I would ask where they are coming up with the $400. It doesn't make sense to me and we will be here for moral support

I can definitely see both sides of this one. $100 may be a small price to pay to get them done and over with.

Cannr, I think that paying the $100 would be a decent amount to ensure that they don't EVER HARRASS YOU AGAIN! If they can't ensure that the loan is pif and closed, then I wouldn't send them a thing. Why pay for them to continue to harrass you!

Yeah, me to finfans, I would probably pay the $100 and be done with it, make sure you get a paid in full letter. but then I am someone who came here with 10 pdls, so that would have meant a success for me. LOL.
Totally your decision though, goodluck in whatever you decide. Keep us updated.

Well, honey, I came here with 12 pdl's, so I know what you mean! But after reading your posts and going over all the correspondence I've sent them regarding my state law and that they are illegal, I'm seeing the light. Yes, it would be SO easy just to Money Gram them the $100 and be done with it just to get one more off my list. But, then again, I've fought with the others and gotten refunds. At the very least, I should have it marked PIF. They have been butt-wipes towards me as it is. And where did the $400 come from ? Their ass! I also thought it was kind of odd that they told the BBB that it was already turned over to collections (THEIR collections) but would settle for $100 and be done with it. If it's already in collections, how are they able to negotiate a settlement? Okay. We'll see what response the BBB has next. I stated what I told them. Now they'll send my response to One Click (blah, blah) and see what One Click says. One saving grace is that the BBB states on there that if One Click doesn't comply or we come to a "stand off" again, I can refile another complaint and they will intervene. We'll see if they budge. If they don't, then the BBB will hear from me AGAIN (they're probably tired of my ass too!) and One Click will get the BITE ME letter! LOL! But I agree. That's why I come to the forum everytime I get some kind of response. I need advice and opinions. Then I can see the light! As I said, paying the $100 would shut them up and they would go away, but hell, I've already friggin paid them! And as stated above, where did the $400 come from? Interesting. They stated to the BBB that amount resulted from me revoking their ACH privilidge? What the??? Am I being punished by fines for revoking their ACH debits? Makes you wonder, doesn't it????

Cannr...I was trying to figure that out with one of mine and mathematically I figured they kept charging the finance fee every 2 weeks since I closed my account and they charged me 4 nsf charges...for when they tried to debit and couldn't. When I added that all up it came to within a dollar or so of what they said I owed...which of course I am not paying. 1 of the ones that answered the BBB said I still owed $480. but they would settle for $110. I said no way...I overpaid $471. and will not "settle" for another payment.

Ahhhh, thank you morningstarr! I see now where they come up with their dollar amounts. You make sense. They're charging me for the debits they didn't get. BITE ME! Let's see what the BBB respondes with. I'll have a stand off with them. We can stare each other down. Who gives a crap. $100 doesn't seem like much to get rid of them, but then again, they claimed I didn't even pay what they deposited into my account. Hello! I paid over what they deposited into my account! And for them to offer you a "settlement" when you paid hundreds over. Hello again! Can you imagine being one of the pdl people? They are probably the most scumy sneaky slimy people walking around their neighborhoods. At least we can hold our heads up high. They should all be thrown in a hole and buried. Oh. Did I say that????
