Well, I just received 2 return receipts out of the 3 certified letters I sent out. The 3 were United Cash Loans, BMG, and ameriloan. I got receipts from United Cash and Ameriloan. How do I know if any from the 3 that I will receive any of the illegal finance fees back? Will they e-mail or write me saying that they will send a refund? Will they contact me if they won't give me a refund? If they don't contact me, do I send them the letters again? Maybe I will just receive a check in the mail. I can only hope, thanks Ed.

I emailed and sent United and ameriloan refund "demands" and filed with the BBB. I have found that refunds are hard to come by and these two don't like to give back anything, having said that I did get a refund of 420.. from CMG on an overpayment. We signed a agreement that I would not seek further damages and they sent me a money order last week (I would not give them new bank account information).
United told BBB that they would not give me a refund because they feel they did noting wrong,I aksed them for debt verification in hopes of finding something in the contract to use as leverage.

So, keep emailing them "demanding" a refund, just because you sent the certified letters dont mean they will give you your money back.

David is right...refunds are actually very rare. I had over paid on United and ameriloan and had to fight for the PIF's ...never got the refund and it's been over 6 months so I am not expecting it ...
