I posted this on another thread but hope you don't mind that I opened up a new topic. I just finished filing a complaint with the BBB against United Cash Loans. After closing my account, reopening another, sending cease and desist and revocation of wage assignment letters, they are still threatening further collection for $570 on a $300 loan on which I have paid a grand total of $765.
The resolution I requested with the BBB was a refund of $465 in illegal interest collected (I live in KY). Truth be told, I will be happy just to get UCL out of my life, but wondering if anyone has had any luck receiving refunds if pdls are illegal in their state.

Never received any cooperation from them other than a form letter stating they were closing the file.
Most PDLs are not even members. Therefore, they dont care about their status with the BBB.
What you can do is bring the PDL to Small Claims Court. They will never answer the complaint. Therefore,Judgement in your favor!
Now they owe you!!!!!!
Make sure you have the correct address for them if you choose to go that route. Sometimes the address they give you is usually a clump of trees or a vacant lot.
In order to get the accurate address send them a return receipt attached to a box. They will be more likely to sign for a box than an envelope.
Everyone loves a gift!!
Good Luck

liz, I posted on your other thread regarding this. I did receive some refunds from some of my pdls. And they were resolved just through the BBB. Just my experience.

liz, I received one refund through the BBB but most pdls said a refund was not warranted so, they would only give a paid in full. After rebutting a copy times, I just settled for the paid in full.

I only received a few of my accounts closed by using BBB. I did request a refund, but after they agreed to close the account, I settle for that. Still have some that I'm trying to deal with using BBB, but one has been closed by BBB because the company didn't want to close the account.
