if i filed complaints before i was offered and signed a release of liability am I at risk for anything?

You can contact the BBB and inform them that your issue has been resolved to your satisfaction and to cease their investigation. If your dealing with a PDL, chances are they don't care about their BBB status so I wouldn't worry about it.
