I sent them a request to pay the remainder of the balance which I said was 195.95, which is more than the principle. I originally borrowed $350.00 and have paid $215.00 to date. This is what they e-mailed me back today:
Please reference your loan contract the Loan Note & Disclosure Statement, the Governing Law section. This is what you agreed to when you signed your loan contract.
Governing Law: "Both parties agree that this Note and your account shall be governed by all applicable federal laws and all laws of the jurisdiction in which the LENDER is located, regardless of which state you may reside, and by signing below or by your electronic signature, you consent to the exclusive exercise of regulatory and ad judicatory authority by the jurisdiction in which the Lender is located over all matters related to the Note and your account, forsaking any jurisdiction which either party may claim by virtue of its residency". In the meantime I am in the position to offer you loan payoff as listed below.
As of today, your total account balance is $540, loan payoff is for $480, payment arrangements are for three (3) payments $160 due on 12-27, 1-10 and 1-24.
To accept this loan payoff please follow the payment confirmation instructions listed below.
Payment Confirmation Instructions:
* Payment method is Visa or MasterCard Debit/Credit ($5.00 processing fee).
* To CONFIRM call or email me, Karen Lamb at 800-654-7444, ext. 846 with you card information.
* You will need your Visa or MasterCard the card#, expiration date and three (3) digit code from back of card
* To take advantage of this offer it is very important that you confirm this loan payoff today.
This is a loan payoff, meaning once you confirm this payoff by providing your card information, your account will then be removed from the collections process, your balance will be frozen and no further charges will be assessed on the loan balance as long as you follow through with the agreed arrangement.
Any suggestions or comments?????

How does this letter sound??
12/20/2007
Dear Mr. Glenn Fitzgerald,
This letter is to inform you of my situation with your company United Quick Cash AKA Payday Loan-Yes. I received a 350 dollar from your company on 10/25/07, the loan was to be due on 11/15/07, but due to fraudulent activities on my account I had to close that account, as you will see in the copies that I am including with this letter, I faxed over a letter to your company on 11/06/07 the day that my account was closed, informing you customer service agents of this matter, I didn’t receive a response from the fax so I emailed it to, what I thought, was the gentleman that helped me with the loan, Justin, on 11/12/07. What I received next was an automated response, the same one I got when applying for the loan, so I emailed it again the same day, and again on 11/14/07, my next response came from a “Tim Atkins” which was also a automated response, saying that there was a problem with my checking account, so in turn I again emailed him the letters and kindly let him know that I had BEEN trying to reach them in effort to handle this situation. I keep getting phone calls at work after I clearly prohibited them, all I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER 11,2007 is to pay your company their money, I will also notify you that after doing research I have come to find out that your company is lending illegally, therefore I am only obligated to pay back what I borrowed, and I will do just that as soon as I get confirmation that you received this letter, and if there is a specific place you would like me to send it I would be happy to oblidge. I can be reached via email at or via USPS at
Thank you for you time
Regards,
CC: Attorney General Linda Singer

Should I send another letter to them restating my terms or should I just ignore it? I don't want to give them any kind of access to my account, they'll help themselves I'm sure. In my e-mail, I asked for a mailing address to mail the payment to them but as you can see, they didn't give it to me. They are only giving me the option of a credit card number, exp. date and the 3 digit code on the back of my card. YEAH RIGHT!!!! Like I'm going to give them that information!

They wont give you any info, and they already told me that I would have to pay a "fee" to get a copy of the loan docs which they would include with the payment, go figure! But from what i have heard it doesnt matter, you should abide by the laws of your state and not theirs no matter what they say, where do you live btw?

FYI - Their corporate name is Global Payday, not United Quick Cash. UQC is just another name they used to go by.

I live in AZ. I sent them the letter stating my state laws, etc. and they sent me that letter today. The only information that I requested from them is a mailing address to mail the balance and they are only giving me the option to pay by credit card. The amount that they are telling me I owe is more than what I am saying that I owe, of course.

Global Payday is the name of the parent company.
All the other names are subsidiaries.
It doesn't matter what name you send it to, they are nasty to deal with and will probably refuse the letter anyways.

I just got a phone call from 480-365-0154 asking for me. I said that I wasn't there and I could take a message. The guy said that his name is Officer Stuart and that he is calling about an urgent legal matter. He's called my cell phone 2 times and my work number 3 times in the past 30 minutes!! I googled the number and there are some other similar complaints. Anyone have an idea of what company he might be from?
I have to admit, this is getting a little nerve racking. I have contacted all of my PDL companies and have requested all contact be made either via email or regular mail. I have been told by one that they do not abide by this (those were her exact words). I just said "thank you" and hung up.

I'm not even sure that United Quick Cash is related to Global . . .

I know that in government filings against them all the other names have been used, but not UQC. I have never seen anything linking them. I read over the post Tiffany read to get that info, and here is an excerpt:
| Quote: | United Quick Cash LLC
333 Naamans Rd.
Claymont, DE 19703-2801
New Castle County, Delaware
Telephone 302-792-2209
Owner: Glenn Fitzgerald
Line of Business: Business Services & Mailing and Messenger Services
No. of Employees: 2
Now looking at the information, you would think that there's a possibility that this is not the right business. However, there are two important things to look at here: 1) The D&B report pulled up only one entity in the entire state of Delaware by the name of United Quick Cash. 2) There is a difference between my research and the D&B report (United Quick Cash in Holly Oak vs. United Quick Cash in Claymont). So, I went to a zip code map. Holly Oak is zip code 19809. Claymont is zip code 19703. There is a difference of 2.69 miles from Claymont to Holly Oak. (Walking distance). |
I think that what happened was that Global Payday contracted some of it's collection out to this company. They do business services. Global is located in Utah and PA. Not DE. I think it's probable that these two companies had a business relationship, but I do not think that proves they are owned by the same company. I think something like that would've been found by the state officials that have fined Global big time. All their other DBA's are listed.
