When did you report the PDL?

At what point do you think you should report a PDL to the BBB, AGs office, FTC, etc? I'm still dealing with a few, and I want to avoid the calling me at work and crazy, threatening calls I am liable to get. Since KY prohibits internet PDLs, would it make sense to go ahead and report them as "lending illegally"? I just let One Click Cash take their last ACH from my now totally closed account (I still owe $30) and I know that craziness is going to start when they don't get their $90 on payday. I've already sent the letter out to them, revoking ach and wage assignment, but I'm thinking about filing a complaint against them with the BBB and AGs office, just as back up since they are operating illegally. Confused

I would report them the second they are breaking any law.

Another thing to think about - Even if the complaint doesn't benefit your situation, it does begin to alert the government of the extent of the problem. Each complaint they get puts them one step closer to really outlawing these types of lenders.

I sent my complaints the same time I sent the letters to the PDL's.

I did the same as volley did...get that done asap (meaning your complaints) and goudah is right when she said if it doesn't benefit your case at least you have alerted them to what is going on. Perhaps if they get enough complaints they will do something about them. Good luck and keep us posted.

I also filed my complaints as soon as I realized what they were doing was illegal. There is no reason to put it off and it helped me with the harassing phone calls for the most part.

You need to file your complaints now. I actually filed with the BBB, the FTC, and my state AG before I even sent out the letters to the pdls. File those complaints. Your state AG will begin sending letters. It takes time, so do it as soon as you can.
