Hi everyone is it good to live in a state like NY that prohibits payday loans does that gives me and edge when dealing to resolve matters.

It really all depends. I'd say it depends more on the company you are dealing with then the state you live in. Some companies are going to be incredibly difficult no matter what the laws are, while others will cave even if the laws are on their side.
I don't think it makes it easier one way or the other. Most of these ipdl's are illegal in every state. What would probably give you the most help would be if your state actually went after these companies and helped you deal with them.
