I had closed an account through Wamu and the pdls hit me i called them and they reversed all the charges and opened me up a new account. My SSI check came into my new account and they did not get my new information. They promised me that they could not debit my new account and they did not.

Great news! That is how my bank treated me. Closed my account. Opened another. No linking. Promised me that nothing would reopen it. My PDLs are all closed now so I can now breathe again.

That is very good news. It really seems some banks are just much easier to deal with then others. They all should be that way because ultimately you're the customer and you would think they would want to keep you happy and keep your business. I have learnt so much since coming to this site, about the rights we have to revoke all ACH transactions and such that I think a lot of banks need to learn we can do that. From what I've read on here I know some banks try to tell people it's not allowed. I'm glad to hear your bank is so easy to deal with.

I had very good luck with Wamu also. They were quick to help and actually understood my situation. I am no longer with them, but will always remember how helpful they were.
