Just a word of advice

The only experience I have with a payday loan ended up winding me in bankruptcy court. These are clearly not the way to go. If not by my advice just read most of the stories being posted. If your paycheck got ruined and it will take three days for you to get a new one than I could maybe see the need for a payday loan but you are far better off asking your family, friends, neighbors, and even complete strangers before possibly signing your life away!

I second your advice. Payday loans are definitely not the way to go! These short-term loans lead to long term problems!

I have learned here and from experience. The only true important expences are a roof over my head, heat under that roof and food in my family's belly.Other than that it does not need to be bought or paid until the first three things are taken care of.

Kash, thank you so much! I hope that I can at least be supportive to other people going through this. When I went through this mess I was a wreck. Sick to my stomach and not much help to anyone. You guys saved me when I needed it and I hope I can encourage others to fight the fight against these pdls.

SteveKathy, you are already helping out by sharing your experience! The more people we have speaking out about these thieves, the more people we will be able to convince to stay away from them!!

Good advice everyone! I too have been on that spinning wheel and it is very hard to get off once you start it. Payday loans should be avoided at all costs. I know times can be hard...but just think of ways to get by without getting a PDL. I do not have alot of resources at hand...but I have learned to adjust to my situation and resort to getting a payday loan. Hopefully someday there will be laws enforced that will put an end to people..but I doubt it.

I want to add a big "Amen" to comments here; I've learned my lesson the hard way, re payday loans. It would be great if all of the States who are debating putting the payday loan companies out of business could visit this site and see the stories of people who've been caught up in this mess. Yes, we voluntarily signed up for these loans, no one "made" us do it, but so much of their websites/contracts/advertising is SO misleading, it's easy to get caught.
