I took out a payday loan with them for $300 and they alread took out the $90 finance charge. I tried calling the same day offering to pay them $300 and they refused. They told me I had to wait another 2 weeks and then pay them $390? Are you kidding me? They are refusing my money.

Block their ACH at the bank or close your account.

They will take the $90 forever and keep giving you the run around about paying the entire thing off.

This is so typical of these goon lenders You could have reversed the deposit of $300 with the bank that same day. That way you never recieved the loan and it could be considered a loan cancellation within 24hrs.

The reason they want you to wait two weeks so they can rack up on finance charges. Do as nohiogal stated and close your account ASAP. If that is not possible you should atleast put it on deposit only status and open another account immediately. Once they have your info in their system it is no telling what tricks they will pull

clearwater bay marketing is the company in charge of all of sandpoint capitals affairs, i have a loan with them and all you have to do is call this 1-800-708-4342 and ask for kristen, she will probably answer, just explain your issue to her and see where to go from there. they always only take out the finance fee, unless you call them and request to pay off the entire loan. counting on faxes is actually pretty irresponsible since they dont always make it through. or make it to the correct person.
anyhow good luck( and the # works i just called it and spoke to her myself). this is also what you do if you would like to take out another loan after you have paid it off.

This company is a joke!! We got a 300 loan and were told they would take 90 every two weeks until it was paid off and there was a one time 90 finance charge. Well as of today they have taken a total of 540 out of our account, and when we called them to ask why he informed me that the 90 every two weeks does not pay your loan but is the constant finance charge. So they will continue to take out 90 every two weeks until we make a 300 payment.. I'm calling the better business bureau and a few other places and changing my account. This place is a JOKE!!!!

Sorry to say this but there's only one way to stop them and that's to close your account asap!! If you start a new topic with more information we will be able to help you, let us know, the names of pdl's, amount borrowed and paid back, Internet or store front, and the state in which you reside.

I also had a loan with Sandpoint Capital. I faxed the template letter that I got from this site and formatted it to suite my needs and state laws. I also typed up a letter and faxed that as well. I had one loan with them and paid it off but I overpaid them $180. I didnt realize I was being overcharged at that time. I didnt know it was illegal. I took a second loan out with them for $250. After having to close out my account due to fraud by a third party I contacted them. They were not helpful at all and demanded way more than I owed. That is how I stumbled upon this site. I then realized what jerks these people are and demanded that the money I overpaid on my first loan be put towards my new loan and my balance would be $70. With in two hours after faxing my letters I received my first response from them. I had to send a couple other emails back to them showing them I wasnt going to back down since I knew they were illegal and I finally just received an email saying they accept the terms and will accept $70 as PIF. Just be persistent. They know they are illegal and do not have a leg to stand on.

So how many times do they debit your account, or do you have to call and tell them that you want it paid in full. I saw some companies will pay it down in $50, do they do that?

I too got caught in the trap of this company. $300 plus $90. Went to iCollect then to these jerks. GCCS. The people there threaten a civil suit. Is that even possible? I live in California and they are located in NY? The Sanpoint Capitol LLC is actually located in Schaumburg, IL. Not sure if this is the same company or not. Found it when I did a Google search.
I tried to settle for the original amount of $390. Please help. I am not giving anyone a penny until I know what is going on. I called the Consumer Regulations in California and found they are not even licensed in California. So agian I am not paying them one cent. How do they even get away with this kind of action?
Please assit if you can.

They can threaten all they want but they will never walk into a court of law as an unlicensed lender who is attempting to sue you for a payday loan which was illegal to begin with. Inform Global Check & Credit Services they can't collect on an illegal debt. I would file a complaint with your attorney general's office and the FTC.
